There is no way in hell you own the copyright to this image. Why would you even upload this? --Bannable 04:15, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

First off you don't have to be a condescending asshole about things. Secondly it's a FF13 character, it's not like Square is going to go around and crack down on someone for using the image of lightning, but it if is really a big deal I'll remove it. In the future though you should try to be less of a jerk about things! --Rubyru 16:08, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

It is far better to have Bannable telling you to cease and desist than a government agent. Unless he is one... >_> Anyway, in the future, if you wish to spice up your pages with pictures, there are many public domain pictures, such as attractive young women with reddish hair. A Google search can lead you there. There are also artists out there who do commissions for very low prices, if you wish for a more personalized keepsake. You can also draw them yourself. All this said, please be mindful of copyright laws in the future, because we like to have as little trouble as you do. --Qmasterflex86 12:28, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
Allow me to quote the file uploading guidelines for you, since you seem to have missed them the first time around.
Please make sure that one of the following conditions applies:
  • You own the copyright to it. (You created the image or took the photo.)
  • You have permission to use it. (The person who created the image specifically told you that you could use it on this site, or has given everyone explicit permission to use it anywhere.)
  • It is in the public domain. (In the EU, this is after the author has been dead for 70 years.)
By uploading this file you are violating international copyright law, which is something neither Tom nor anyone else involved with the wiki wants to deal with. --Bannable 21:07, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
Let's see, who's the jerk? The one infringing copyright and thus opening up Tom to lawsuits (and thus jeopardizing the entire game) and then being bitchy about it when called out...or the one reminding him to follow the law and the rules of the Wiki?
I don't even have to think about that one for a second. I may not agree with the ridiculousness of current copyright law, but at least if I choose to infringe some megacorporation's copyrights I won't be foolish enough or so unutterably rude as to make it endanger anyone besides myself. --Anaris 02:42, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

My problem wasn't that it had to be taken down. I have absolutely no problem with that as it was through a goggle search that I found the image and had assumed without thinking that it would be from one of those free fantasy images sites (not from the game Final Fantasy which is how the image came up near the top). I had no intentions of breaking copyright rules and it was only when Bannable brought it up that I had to go back and look at where I actually got the image to double-check myself. But it was the way Bannable approached this matter that I had a problem. There is absolutely no reason to talk down to people and call them idiots when handling things like this. The wiki is suppose to be a tool to increase the fun of the game, and that is not achieved you go around chasing people off with rudeness. In the future the benefit of the doubt should first be given as well as informing a person about the rules rather than going off spouting insults. --Rubyru 13:57, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
