History

Azohib was a quiet and relatively peaceful territory until after the Secession, when the Soliferum Republican army entered the region to retake control. The swift reconquest was also brutal, and several prominent burghers were killed by the occupation forces until the Senate appointed a lord and re-established control. Later, the Grand Lodge of Lunaria sent troops to retake Azohib, but the peasants resisted political change so soon after their tramautic experiences, and the Battle of Azohib which occured soon thereafter is noted for the death of the hero Olwe.

Surroundings

The Count's estate is situated upon a cliff overlooking the southern sea (name to be inserted/made up) north of the main woods, where the good venison is to be found. A small fishing village can be found in the cove beneath, sheltered from all but the fiercest storms, which usually come in the later summer months. The view on a sunny day is quite breathtaking, as the miles of woodland unfold to the south, the plains in the east lush and green, the citadel of Ortedail to the west and the sun sparkling off the waves to the north. A small orchard is located near the estate, famous for cider in autumn and winter.

The knights of the regions have somewhat lesser estates, looking after different areas of the regions economies. One of the best estates to be held, usually awarded to the most faithful knights are found overlooking the woodlands, usually with good connections to the local hunting lodges. Another estate is located overlooking the farming villages over the fields in the east, which has the dubious honour of having the best ikrif crops in the region, which the count dubiously permits, if sufficient warning is given of it's effects.

A small shrine is found to the south, the future site of a temple. The shrine rests on a low hill, a long line of oaks to the east of the hill, covering it in shade during the early parts of the day. The low hill allows a fine mixture between shade and sunlight, and the fall of moonlight, onto the shrine. A pleasant scent of the forest lingers there .Trees, moss, a multitude of flowers, the shrine ever connected to the earth, the riches around it sweltered by plenty of sunlight and the radiance of the moon.

The construction project has been put off indefinitely, due to matters of war. However the grounds around the shrine are closely kept, watched over, guarded, so that when war has passed a beautiful temple may be erected, bringing guidance, and the promise of peace, to the surrounding woodlands.

Springtime

Through the eyes of a knight of the region, Gialon a time when he and his unit were in the region following a successful assault of Osaliel.

As Gialon and his men rode back into Azohib a pleasant smile quickly replaced the calm, cool, look on his face. Chuckling warmly as he looked around himself at the lush rich forests around him. Forests recovering amazingly fast from the devastations done to them by Soliferum troops the last time the region had fallen.

The smile remained as Gialon looked around, his blue eyes carefully taking in his surroundings. Noticing the small flowers that had come forth all along the roadside, the many colors of them almost marking the path so neatly through the forest. The lush coating of moss over the patches of forest burned in the hostilities some time ago. The trees still standing strong, their branches renewed, most signs of singing already gone. Their branches bearing aloft green crowns that let a pleasant shade rest all across the forest.

His men seemed in good spirits as well, realising their lords estate was close. The veterans eagerly telling the few fresh recruits of the good housing there, the still abundant and well cared for food. The little stream just down the hill from the mansion itself, a clean warm stream of water ideal for cleaning and relaxation. The extensive forests stretching south from the mansion, the beautiful view they got from the small hill that the mansion rested on over said forests.

Engelbrecht grinned hearing the tales, remembering the forests vividly, hoping that his lord might find time to hunt there. Realising the abundance of game there. Riding on eagerly, grinning even as the company had to take a small detour because of some fallen trees.

Gialon relaxed, the bloody fields of Osaliel from his mind for a time, smiling slightly at some of the men's joke. Riding his white courser through the forests eagerly, his eyes lighting up for a moment, as he saw the path leading towards his estate.

Riding towards it swiftly, breathing in the spring forest air of his estate deeply. Even the courser seeming eager, clearly wanting to swiften the pace. The beast had obviously recognized the grounds, and remembered the good care it had had at the stable there in the weeks waiting for the assault on Osaliel last time.

Riding up the path towards the mansion, on his estate's grounds now, Gialon relaxed, letting his horse carry him towards the mansion. His men eagerly following behind, joking still, some of the fresher recruits looking around at the forests around them eagerly, carefully. Seeing their new lords estate for the first time.

Entering the estate's inner grounds the men spread out quickly. Some towards the barracks to get rid of their equipment and enjoy the warm spring sun shining on the forests, let out the weariness of the march for a time. Others towards the old palisade, Engelbrecht spurting them on, the captain realising full well defences had to be ready for any eventuality.

Gialon himself rode on towards the inner parts of his estate, towards his mansion.

As he rode into his mansion's small courtyard Gialon swiftly dismounted, walking swiftly into his house, towards his office. A stable boy quickly rushed up to take care of the courser, leading it carefully towards the stables. A small smile still on Gialon's face as he walked into his office. Sitting down at his desk and beginning to write some letters, his mind clear enough now to write them.
