Cagilan Empire's(?) Counter Offensive
May 28, 2008 --Tenebrioun Kiri-Jolith

After their Crushing defeat in Chagasu, where Falasani Armies caught some of the Exhausted Cagilan troops attempting to flee, found only by the trails of urine leading from the road to their camp.

The Cagilan Empire decided to strike back at the Falasani Armies... I think. I was informed by a few of my troops that they may, or may not, have seen A Caligan Flag or two amongst the throng attacking us.

The Cagilans Effort was accompanied mildy by their Allies. Obviously their 1653 CS army, (with the minor assistance of 14603 CS of their Minion Hordes) Led the effort, leading to the defeat of the Falasani Armies.

Certainly Falasan will think twice before Humiliating the Cagilans ever again. Seeing their response, we have reason to be cautious...

((Given the commentary resulting from the Previous Article, I shall make a Letters page specifically for some articles now.))

Cagilan Empire's(?) Counter Offensive Discussion

After a Long Absence
May 25th, 2008 --Tenebrioun Kiri-Jolith

The situation in Falasan has admittedly deteriorated since my last update. This update is specifically for our Friendly cowards on the Continent of Atamara.

Let us begin.

A Long, long time ago, A realm called Cagilan Empire looked to its northern border. It decided it needed to expand its borders. And considering that north was the only direction this wonderful empire didn't have an ally in, they chose to attack. They sent a very kind war declaration, stating something about heightened tensions, and feeling threatened. As well they should have, considering Falasan is well known for attacking an established enemy 10 regions larger than ourselves, especially when that particular enemy in surrounded 2 or 3 realms deep on all sides by their allies, (Henceforth referred to as "Minion Hordes" or "Minions" for short.).

But, as Falasan was obviously just biding our time to make our suicidal plunge into the heart of Enemy territory, Cagilan Empire decided to take preemptive action and deny their eventual destruction at Falasan's Massive Army.

They declared war, and attacked the same turn. Co-incidentally the at the same time the Falasani army was supporting our Allies, the Ash Sea Islands in the south. Obviously yet another of Caligan Empires Co-incidences, and making their defeat all the more embarassing.

The problem being... They attacked a region we had already built up. Losing half of their Army in the process. Did that stop the Mighty Cagilan Of course not. They proceeded to continue sending their young men to the slaughter. There were times I was wondering if I would have to swim back to my tent through the Cagilan blood. Eventually the Cagilan's realized that the plan of exhausting our Warriors' sword arms to death would not work. So they fell back into their lands, to put their heads together and plan their next move.

Shortly after they fell back with their tails tucked between their legs, to explain to the families of the young men they led to their slaughter, the realm of Talerium messaged our King.

They stated their offense and outrage at a previous slight we had given them. Allowing a South-Eastern Realm to travel through our lands in order to attack them. But, upon asking around, I was hard pressed to find a noble that remembered a Protectorate of Magnus army passing through our lands, much less to attack anything. I did find one noble that recalled a single Protectorate of Magnus troop-leader passing through our lands many months previous, but surely that wasn't what had irked Talerium's temper.

Then I looked at the Relations report from our Realm, and noticed that Caligan Empire was Allies of Talerium. Certainly the Cagilans had more pride than to beg for help from their allies against a smaller opponent. Apparently not, as the Talerium troops arrived approximately the same time as the Darka "Mercenaries". It was certainly a co-incidence that some Minions decided to attack at precisely the moment that the Cagilan Empire sacrificed their entire army on the Falasan defenders. It was certainly just a co-incidence, or so we liked to believe.

Even with Talerium and Cagilan Empires new Army. (The "Mercenaries" have spent most of their time looting random regions). They apparently relied on the Cagilan's old strategy. Returning to the time-old Favorite of Sacrificing their Armies upon the Falasan defenders. Granted they did have a victory or two, generally against a Noble that got lost. Their great victories involving 10k CS vs <500. That they cheered to the high-heaven.

Shortly after routing the Talerium AND Caligan Empire party, we began sending scouts around, just to see where they were coming from. Much to our shock and surprise, we saw the Cagilan Empire Armies staging in Tarasac. Tara's city. But how, The Tarans had a treaty with us. Which we were in the process of renegotiating, and they kept stalling, little did we know why. We sued them to stop allowing the Cagilans to rally there. To honor our treaty. To give us a fair chance in our war, as we obviously couldn't attack the Cagilan Army inside Tarasac without breaking our treaty. The Tarans kept stalling, and delaying. As time left on our treaty dwindled away, we noticed a massing of Taran troops in Tarasac along with the Cagilans.

Then the treaty expires, and barely had the notice of the treaties expiration been put out, that Tara attacked us as well....

So, let us look back at the Situation.

The Cagilan Empire declares war, expecting an Easy fight.

They are routed, slaughtered, and otherwise Humiliated.

They involved Minion #1 and Minion #2 (Darka and Talerium.)

They are routed, slaughtered, and otherwise Humiliated.

They hide in treaty'd Lands and bide their time in an unassailable fortress.

They involve Minion #3 (Tara)

They finally begin to win true battles.

But let us count. Falasan has 15 Regions. Caligan Empire has 25. Talerium has 17. Darka has 21, Tara has 16.

So. Feel free to check my math. But it seems to me that it is 15 Regions vs 78 region. Even to be fair, we'll say that the Minion Hordes have split their attention between Falasan and the Ash Sea Islands. So, we will lower their Region count to 50. So, Falasan's 15 Regions vs The Cagilans' and their Minion Hordes' 50 regions. And they still cannot win a clear-cut victory.

So then. To end this little editorial. It is a shame to be a Thoughtless Drone (See: Minion Hordes Above). It is worse to be a thoughtless drone to a Coward (See: Cagilan Empire Above.)

Comments are Encouraged.
