Realm Summary

last updated by Ilya on 2009-10-05 03:28:51

Falasan is a Constitutional Monarchy. Located at the margins of the Falas lake, our lands are one of the main routes for travellers in Atamara. Ambassadors, traders and priests cross these lands daily. As a central realm, we almost always have a war on close to us. Our armies must be disciplined and ready at all times.

Dedication, honour, respect and discipline are the most highly valued principles for running our realm. ~ Queen Cathrine Aeternam

Ruler Bulletin

Overview

Falasan is a Constitutional Monarchy. Its power derives from the ruler's council, The Guild, consisting of the more senior and proven members of the realm (soon will be filled with Ambassadors, Dukes and Government representatives). All major issues, economic or military, are considered, evaluated and decided in this council and therefore all issues should be addressed firstly there.

Dedication, honour, respect and discipline are the most highly valued principles for running our realm.

Chain of Command

Monarch: The final word on all decisions is taken by the ruler. The Monarch has the authority to overrule all other orders, something rarely needed.

High Marshal: His responsibilities are to protect our lands, develop strategy, communicate with fellow allied Generals. He works with, and commands the marshals of the armies, who then in turn give out orders to nobles.

Royal Treasurer: He is responsible for the taxes, tax shares, food allocation and Head of the Falasan Trade Association.

Arch Priest: He is responsible for all internal and external discipline matters and has the authority to fine, ban or execute those not complying with the Falasan principles and laws.

Message groups

The Guild: King Tuscano is the head of this group. All issues concerning you should be firstly addressed to this group.

Lord and Bureaurcratic Forum: Arch Priest Maniac is head of this group. All issues concerning region maintenance should be addressed here.

Falasan Trade Association: Royal Treasurer Nom is the head of this group. All issues concerning trading should be addressed here (temporarily disabled due to lack of trading during war time).

Military Council: High Marshall Leto is the head of this group. All issues concerning wars should be addressed here.

Alliances

Falasan is allied with the realms of Minas Ithil and the Ash Sea Islands, under the terms of a defensive alliance. This provides us the security we need to continue our war efforts and at the same time feel safe at home.

Current status

Soon after settling peace with Eston, Falasan was attacked by the Cagilan Empire, saying that what they wanted was to minimize the threat that Falasan poses ever since the earlier records of Atamara. We have been at war from then on, fighting fiercely against Cagilan Empire, Talerium and Tara. High Marshal Leto's great skills and the intense dedication of our troop leaders has been decisive in our resistance and the good results against such odds.

ORDERS

Orders are usually given about an hour after turn change if not before. They are only valid for that turn. Do not follow orders from last turn. If you have any questions about specific orders, ask in realm.

CHAIN OF COMMAND

1. High Marshal of Falasan (Joline Rasthaven) 2. Marshal Blue Beard 3. King Willem 4. Duke Ronan

Default DEFENSIVE settings (BEHIND WALLS)

Inf/MI/SF: DEFENSIVE; deploy in the MIDDLE in a LINE formation Arch: DEFENSIVE; deploy in the FRONT in a LINE formation Cav: NORMAL; deploy in the REARGUARD in a WEDGE formation

UNIT RECRUITMENT

1. Do not over recruit, recruiting more than 40 men is ineffective and costly. 2. Our realm taxes can easily support a unit of more than 20 men which is recommended. 3. Recruit suitable paraphernalia

PARAPHERNALIA RECRUITMENT

Four types of paraphernalia are strongly recommended for recruitment, as they increase the efficiency of the army. They are:

• Scouts: You will need at least 3. Getting more than 3 is recommended as you will occasionally lose them. 3 per 20 men is a good ratio Scouts are available in these regions: Elroth and Menedor,

• Banners: 1 per 20 men. Banners are available in these regions: Barad Gardor and Elroth.

• Healers: 1 per 20 men. Healers are available in these regions: Barad Gardor

• Carts: 1 per 20 men. Carts are available in these regions: Barad Gardor

Personal Financial Matters

Saving Your Gold For reasons known only to their respective guilds, scouts and healers demand differing amounts of gold based on how long they have been unpaid and how many you have in your retinue. Here are some pointers to keep those scheming workers from robbing you blind:

Your Scouts

  • 2 scouts: pay every 5 days
  • 4 scouts: pay every 2 or 4 days
  • 5 scouts: pay every 2 days
  • 9 scouts: pay every day

Note: 9 scouts cost the least to maintain per scout per day. Hiring an amount of scouts not included in the above means that no savings are possible, or that they may attempt to rob you blind.

Your Healers

  • 1 healer: pay every 2 days
  • 2 healers: pay every day
  • 3 healers: pay every 1, 2 or 3 days

Note: 2 healers cost the least to maintain per healer per day. Hiring more than 3 healers is unnecessary for normal units.

Your Men After you have spent all your money your men will continue serving you for an amount of time. This period is approximately:

  • 10-11 days for your troops and scouts
  • 8-9 days for your healers

If you are Short of Gold

Use family support if you can. Contact your Lord. Contact the Royal Treasurer. Contact the Lord and Bureaurcratic Forum (LaBF). Note that the Royal Treasurer and the LaBF have limited gold, and priority will go to those who have had reduced taxes due to battles or defensive forces in their regions.

To avoid putting yourself in a position where you are forced to accept paid work, be careful to manage your gold well. Be particularly wary that as your troops become more experienced, they will demand more gold per week for their services.

The Food Trade

Our food production currently provides us with a small surplus, so we are able to sell food to other nations. If you are doing so please contact the Royal Treasurer first so as not to sell more food than we can afford to.

Our traders are: Lord Foul If you are interested in becoming a trader please contact the Royal Treasurer for further information and assistance.

The Falasan Law

Last Changes

Closer definition / Setup in paragraphs

Preamble: Overview of our Management

Falasan had unique characteristics compared to other realms of the continent. We were focused on bureaucratic work and maintain a very high tax rate that provides the average Troop Leader a rich tax day. We kept neutral or peace relationships with all realms of the continent.

Trading and Tournament carriers were also encouraged.

Unfortunately hostiles have made us take up our weapons. We are currently trying to ensure the pride of our realm and hopefully in the near future we will become again a peacefull realm as we used to

Rules Concerning New Troop Leaders

You must read all bulletins posted upon joining, to acquire a clear view on how the realm works and what we expect from you. Contact the HSF to be assigned to a specific region for maintenance.

If and when you are in doubt for any reason the best decision is to seek the guidance of the council.

Laws

Inactivity: There is no penalty for the inactive players, but it is advised to inform the council in cases of prolonged absences that may lead to breaching §1 §1 Orders: A failure to comply with any orders issued by the ruling council's members over a specific but reasonable period of time, depending on the occasion, will result in a penalty. §2 Preemptive laws:

§2.1 Verbal abuse towards TLs (including foreign TLs) is strictly prohibited §2.2 Looting & marauding without specific orders §2.3 Engaging in combat without orders §2.4 Acting beyond your area of responsibility, causing damage to others or to the realm §2.5 Any premediated action that, directly or indirectly, harms the interests of the realm including the preaching of any religion in another realm without invitation of that realm

§3 High Treason: §3.1 Leaking realm information §3.2 Starting or entering a rebellion §3.3 Joining an enemy realm §3.4 Deliberately breaching peace treaties without Government orders

§4 Abuse of Power: All TLs in positions of power will be answering to "The Guild" (the most trusted inner circle) in cases of abuse.

Penalties

For any occasion there will be set a time period all between 24 and 72 hours, for the accused party to provide any evidence for his/her defense. The minimum penalty is set to a 75gold fine for each violation of the law but has no upper limit, which means it may result to banishment, deportation or death depending on the frequency and severity of the violation.
