Everguard.png The Realm of Everguard Founded
What began as only a dream in the minds of a few became a reality today. A delegation of seventeen nobles united in solidarity to form a realm on the frontier of the known world, after working for over a month to achieve their goal, formerly asserted their control over the realm of Valkyrja, establishing it as the capital of the fledgling realm.

Nobles from Springdale and even some new immigrants to the continent of Dwilight have already began to join the realm, looking to face to frontier with strength and honor. Officially the realm is currently known only as "Springdale Colony" - as the founders of the realm originally came from that realm.

Now that Valkyrja has been taken, the nobles who now call Everguard home must turn their attention to several issues that require immediate attention.

First, and most important, they must decide upon a sovereign ruler to claim political power over the realm, as well as the other council positions. If the nation is to grow and prosper, its citizens can not be ruled by anarchy. Next will be the appointment of the Duke of Valkyrja - the soliders of the realm will need to repair the equipment of their men, recruit new soldiers, and maintain their units, and a rich and powerful duke will be required for that to happen.

Once those issues have been settled, Everguard will need to expand itself beyond its capital. Word throughout the realm indicates that Everguard's sights are set on the city of Gelene as its primary objective for expansion in the near future. To get to that location, they will need to occupy and take over four regions along the way.

Sources within the realm also express some concern over rumors of at least two other colonies emanating from the realm of Springdale that are aimed at regions surrounding Everguard. The infant realm will likely face challenges to its claim of manifest destiny in the west, and when that challenge comes, it may be a difficult time for the realm. Whoever ends up controlling the realm politically will most certainly have his hands full as the nation goes through its initial growing pains.

The Everguard Visionary will continue to cover the situation inside the realm in the coming days.

Everguard.png Peasants Organize Elections
After several days of waiting for the peasants of the new realm of Everguard to organize themselves and conduct proper elections for the council positions of the realm, local leaders finally began caucusing the nobles. The positions being brought to the new subjects of Everguard for their approval are that of Ruler, General, Banker and Judge. Several nobles have indicated they have a desire to serve the new realm in one of these positions. Notably, Fisc Arylon, the organizer of the Everguard delegation has publicly confirmed he shall run for the rulership of the realm - and at current he is unchallenged. The other positions have had a number of nobles declare for, and only a true election will settle the positions. The Everguard Visionary will cover the results of the elections as they come in.

Everguard.png First Council of Everguard Formed
After roughly a week of anarchy government in the new realm, Everguardians across the north are hailing the crowning of a new High King, and the establishment of the positions of Royal High Commander, Royal Adjudicator and Royal High Treasurer. Sir Fisc Arylon, leader of the initial delegation of knights forming the new kingdom was elected to the position of High King with over 70% of the tabulated vote. Karibash ka Habb faced a narrow election to the position of Royal High Commander, ascending to the generalship of the realm by only one vote over his political rival, Sir Jack Carnes. Hackem de Struct was simultaneously elected to both the positions of Royal Adjudicator and Royal High Treasurer - something that was apparently unexpected to him. Sources inside the Everguard inner circle are indicating today that Hackem intends to step down from one of his two positions, and that High King Arylon is likely to appoint Mosious Alfjoi Suaht to the position of Royal High Adjudicator.

Beyond simply the council positions, High King Arylon named Lestat Corax as the first Duke of the capital city of Valkyrja. The capital is in dire need of attention, and Duke Lestat will surely provide such attention by taking care of her people.

The coming days will see great infrastructure development in the realm, and the people of Everguard are excited to begin expanding their territory.

Everguard.png New Lords Appointed
Since the first days of the realm, Everguard has pushed outward, confronting monsters and bringing their civilization to the roguish peasants who roam the countryside. In so doing, the realm has added three new regions to its banner, and with that has come the ascention of three Lords. In addition to Duke Lestat, Count Vesna Valentine now commands the region of Yggdramir, Count Astoc Burgundy now commands the region of Ygg d'Razhuul and Marquis Lawrence Expatriate now controls the suburban territory of Gelene Outskirts. Each has brought their style and justice to their region, and will bring honor to the realm as they rule the local peasantry. The expansion will of course continue.

Everguard.png Military Infrastructure Established
The peasants and nobles alike are today hailing the creation of the first state army of the realm of Everguard, as the Duke of the capital city, Duke Lestat Corax, founded the Phoenix Guard. High King Fisc Arylon had requested Duke Lestat initiate the army, feeling that the nature of the birth of Everguard from the refugees of the South-East Island as well as the cast outs from Springdale, it was appropriate to name the realm's first army after the Phoenix - a mythical bird which symbolically represents rebirth. Like the Phoenix, the spirit of the South-East Island can never truly die, and is reborn and begun anew in a new home. This is represented with the army's motto, Vengeance is Reborn. Once the army was founded, Duke Lestat appointed Jack Carnes to serve as the Marshal of the realm's main force, something that pleased all nobles in Everguard. Another step was taken shortly thereafter, as the realm saw its first recruitment centers built. Two academies, one that trains archers, as well as another one that trains infantry units have been constructed in the Emerald City, to provide the soldiers of the realm with men to command, so that Everguard may expand her borders and achieve her destiny. There is little doubt that this is the first action in the course of many that will exponentially increase the size and power of Everguard, as it takes its place among the most powerful realms on the continent.
