Early history

Renal was a caring, social and friendly boy whom everyone seemed to like despite his habit of boasting. Extremely little is recorded from his first ten years of life, but at the age of 13, he is known to have found a book about magic. This was no fairytale of kind fairies and misunderstood witches, but a record of notorious necromancers through the ages. Fascinated by the tales of men and women selling their soul to highest bidder of the abyss in exchange for power no man could even dream of, Renal found himself longing to be a sorcerer himself. He started studying black magic, but quickly got caught by his parents who forbade him to read such stories. He continued in secret, however, and soon attempted to summon a demon, overestimating his power. He did manage to get contact, to bring the devil to him, but then everything went wrong. The devil made an illusion of one of the ritual candles falling over, making a hole in his pentagram. Believing in the trick, Renal jumped out of his protective sigil and was immediately cornered by the devil he so foolishly summoned. In panic, he asked what the devil wished him to do to save himself. The devil asked him to accept the power of basic magic in exchange for his soul. Renal agreed, thinking it was a good deal for him. He had no idea by that time how important one's soul is. He continued studying demonology, using his limited magical power to aid him and tease his sister and elder brother. He soon learned how important one's soul was and summoned 'his' devil once more, demanding it back or a thousand times greater magic. The devil refused blankly, but Renal knew what he was doing this time. He knew a command word long lost that caused the summoned being insufferable pain. He warned the devil of this, but the devil wouldn't listen. Then Renal spoke it, a word so evil that even the greatest demons would have trouble saying it without a slight feeling of shame. This time, the devil agreed in giving Renal more magic. Barely alive, the devil returned to Hell to recover, but seeing how weakened it was, it's rivals soon overthrew it, claiming Renal's and other's souls. Feeling his magic diminish, Renal attempted to summon the dead devil, but got only a corpse. Then he attempted to summon the devil's successor. He got a weak-willed muscle head of a devil whom he quickly tortured into giving him back his soul and grant him magic. Soon after this, Renal was banished from his family home for disobedience and notorious cruelty. He traveled to the South East Island where he started his military career.

Necromantic Past

Life quickly got boring in the South-East, having to pretend to be a good person, he soon emmigrated to the Colonies. He joined the realm of Giblot mostly by accident. Had he given the realm summary a second thought, he'd be going to Outer Tilog instead. Seeing that there were other evil nobles in Giblot, however, Renal stayed and is there this day today. He's been allowed to practice necromancy as long as he isn't sending his minions at the realm. Soon after joining Giblot, Renal became a trader in order to make his economy more stable. Failing to make a good deal, however, Renal rejoined the army and animated a group of archers to be his military slaves.

The archer skeletons proved to have the same benefits and and drawbacks as living men. They didn't, however, complain about lack of payment. Unfortunately for Renal, he needed to refresh the spell that held his minions under his control every week, costing roughly the same as paying normal men. Still, he was happy with the element of fear they spread amoung his enemies and thier mindless personalities meant he could tell them to do whatever he wants of them without them complaining.

Months ago, Renal was bitten by a rogue vampire. This proved a great shock for him and forced him a step back in his secret attempts to control every undead that exists upon this world. He had to get aid (though not willingly) from the scholar Goergyboy. He was unconcius for a day and a night, but then he went after the vampire in his own, selfish way. He soon caught up, and dealt with the vampire. He reurned to Goergyboy with the ash of the vampire and was asked to get a necklace too. He returned to the graveyard and killed a peasant he found with several necklaces on him, robbed the dead body and returned to Goergyboy. Goergyboy then gave him a cure, took the necklaces and made to go, but Renal assaulted him, digging his loosening fangs into the scholar's neck and made sure they'd stay there for a while. He was captured and the students of the scholar gave him a severe beating. Thereafter Goergyboy set him free, infuriated with his pupils.

Due to a group of scribes' bloody murders, this record has not been updated for quite some time. A brief summary of the events that past follow: Renal was appointed as Count of Ammersfield as Zhar dumped it due to reasons kept secret. Renal has kept the region in line very effectively, using propoganda and a nice look to attract more peasants to rule. Beneath the shiny surface, however, lies a different world: the vast saltmines that provide most of the income for Ammersfield. Teams of slave explorers are also assigned to search for the ancient vats of Ammersfield, which are rumoured to hold tremendous necromantic powers.

During the rebellion in Giblot, Renal joined the rebels, surprisingly fighting for freedom! Surely he must have had his own reasons to do so. He did. The day after the rebel forces took the palace, Renal was elected Banker of Giblot. He started work at once, capturing masses of scribes to do the work for him while he was with the army and whenever he didn't feel like working. Needless to say, the scribes have been doing all the work.

Now, during the second civil war, Renal chose the other side, fighting for the death of the Democracy, while joining the ranks of the infiltrators. The second civil war ended, but a third broke out immediately! In a valiant attempt to pull out the root of the chaos, the new rebel leader, Frodo Baggins, Renal attempted to take him out, but knowing next to nothing about the infiltrator's trade, he was quickly captured. That is the price of arrogance, and he even admitted it to be stupid himself. This admittance of guilt and stupidity seemingly made the nobles forgive him and he was reelected as the rebellion succeeded.

Soon he tired of the infiltrator's trade and rejoined the army while running for the title of Chancellor.

Renal lost the Chancellor's election by a mile. His ego had failed to convince the nobles that he was the right man for the job, and he only managed to earn two votes.

Months after, he even lost the Banker's elections to Sera Osha, who wasn't even running! Enraged, Renal started shouting at the nobles in public, giving away his insanity. He ended his rant with the words "That does it!"

Renal as Priest

After his disastrous defeat in the Colonies, Renal caught wind of old enemies locating him, and boarded the first ship in sight, which by chance took him to Beluterra. There his brother Haroldin had positioned himself as both Count and Arch Priest in The Church of Qyrvagg. Renal sensed salvation in the promises of Qyrvaggism and quickly joined the church. At first, no blessings came to him, and Renal guessed why. He wasn't worshiping Qyrvagg. He was worshiping salvation. Because of his ulterior motives, Renal did not truly believe, so he atoned for his sins and became a priest, striving hard to rid himself of all ulterior motives. The fight against impurity seemed to refine Renal, giving his words power to convince the masses. Soon after he started preaching, Renal was promoted to be the Missionary Primus of Qyrvaggism, and had no plans of abandoning that post in the foreseeable future. However, Renal's arrogance caught up with him. On the very last day of his life, Renal challenged Qyrvagg. He shouted out to Qyrvagg to smite him if he was not a pure soul. As soon as the words had left his mouth, a lightning bolt hit him and killed him instantly.
