Background Story
Cieliena knew she was doing the wrong thing. As she watched her loveless husband, Rothgar Hawkwood riding away from the castle her heart beat faster knowing that her lover would be arrive as soon as the giant man had passed through the estate gates.
As Roland came into the room she flung her arms around him and they embraced with passion. The forbidden love making them giddy as they fell with reckless abandonment onto the bed.
The heavy oaken door swung open with a loud bang. Rothgar had forgotten something, had turned and returned to the castle. Seeing his wife and her lover in his bed, his eyes flashed with hot rage. Using his battle axe that he always carried, he slew the couple within minutes. Realising what he had done he moved to the high window and let him self drop to the hard ground below, dying instantly as he landed on his axe.
The axe, which bore the blood of three victims on this horrific day, is said to have become enchanted with their restless souls. It was later engraved with symbols of the three and it is believed that the axe that searches out and desires to smite revenge on those that have betrayed the trust of others.
