Under the Fontanese Rule

Montijo is a war-torn region between the realm of Fontan and Avamar, on the East Island. A large portion of the region is consisted of empty surfaces of grass, with some other places filled with sand every now and then. Around Montijo stood the old Montijo Knightclub, the place where the Avamarians used to enjoy alot. It had decayed a little, but was still in quite good condition considering how long it had been empty. Another place of note is the old mannor of Philip Unti which the Avamarians burned to the ground soon after his death. The place is rumored to be haunted. Abbandoned buildings where not unusual either.

The Academy of Knowledge guild is headquartered here.

Under the Sirionite Rule

Montijo is a war-weary region, being the site of many a soldier to rally and almost just as many a soldier to fall.

Although it was occupied by Fontan for much of the time during the war, Sirion regained control of this region. The former Fontanese lordship estate was torn down and moved farther North for both convenience and practical reasons, and the new one is located in one of the biggest towns of Montijo, Al Avamont.

Now, Montijo is a key region in the Fontan-Sirion war. Being close to Sirion's city Avamar and between many Fontan townsland and rural regions, Montijo usually flourishes economically, when it's not ravaged by war that is.

Montijo's Southern, Eastern and Western lands are almost completely devout Fellowship of Believer followers, while the Northern lands are only mostly Believers, some even acclamating to Sirion life. However, this dominating religion does cause friction between Sirion's lords and Flow of the Balance priests however, and has caused much unrest in Montijo at times. Nevertheless, Montijo remains in Sirionite control for the time being.
