The Battle of Croton
Another major battle occurred in the conflict of the north, one so soon after first blood in Bohai. In the Spring of 8 YD (or the 30th of November 2009) both the Libero Empire and the Raivanlands attacked Xinhai on the rural greens of Croton.
It was reported in the Dwilight Daily that Xinhai was trying to reclaim Nimh and take Croton while the Allies mobilized in Aegir's Deep and White Plains. Alerted by the movements, all of Xinhai’s armies rallied in Croton to make their stand. It would become the largest defensive victory recorded in Dwilight. If there is a larger battle I either know nothing about it, or no one bothered to record it.
This is a significant event in the war for two reasons. One it is a clear display of Xinhai strength against the Twin “Empires” (I can not accept the Raivanlands as an Empire) and two because it is a second major clash in such a short time proving that this war will be a memorable one.
I wonder how the Twin "Empires" will respond against two consecutive defeats at the hands of Xinhai. Will they rethink their next move, or will they up the ante?
