The Prophecy of Nailyon

Katrina’s last dream of the night had been a bit harder to understand. But, in searching her memory, it was still as vivid as the dream had been when she was asleep, almost as if it were real. A woman of grace and regal beauty spoke to me. Her eyes were the blue of fine sapphires, and her hair was pale, not white or blonde but almost silvery, it was long reaching far down her back and flowed loosely about her face. She was kind and serene. She told Katrina of the need to visit a certain ill noble again. Her words conveyed the message that he was not possessed or evil, nor were any of the various maladies that the healers believed wrong with him correct. The problem was in fact that the energies of who he was and who he desired to be had become jumbled in his head after his many blows he had received recently. She told Katrina that what would be required to heal him was the virtues of the dragons. First of all he would need Courage. The courage would be required to look inside himself and become who he wished to be combined with the strength he already had. Next he would need Honesty. Honesty must be used to remind himself that who he was, was indeed a good and honorable man. Loyalty would be the final virtue. He already had that in great quantity, but his counterpart in all this did not. Loyalty would remind him of his duty to the queen, and to all of D’Hara. And, it would eventually lead him where his faith must lie. Katrina asked the woman how she could know all of this. Before her eyes, as Katrina watched in wonder, the woman’s features changed into that of an ice blue dragon.

“I know because I am Nailyon, daughter of giants. I am not lost, merely forgotten by most. I am the mother of all that is, and you are my chosen child. The task of your family is the task of healing. That is why your family has a motto of Service before Self. You shall be the ones to bring harmony out of chaos. You and your siblings shall bring peace out of war. Do not fear your destiny child, I will be beside you in all that you will do. As D’Hara grows, you will spread our teachings as no other—not even the prophet himself will be able to do. With that, the dragon had faded away and Katrina had awakened to the sunshine coming through her window this morning.
