History

Origin

The History of the De-Legro story begins with the Emigration of Alberto Tratante, his wife and his young son Santiago to the colonies of Windaria. As a trader of some skill Alberto had acquired enough wealth to buy papers of nobility under the less rigorous social system of the colonies, taking the new family name of De-Legro.

Unfortunately while an excellent trader, Alberto did not possess the skills common to those of noble birth, and although there are many noble traders, he believed his previous profession to be beneath his new status.

Without the skills and training to excel in the other noble roles available to him, the newly founded family languished in obscurity. As a proud man, who had previously reveled in his success, these early failures had lasting consequences for Alberto, resulting in a loss of confidence and a deep depression.

A year after arriving in Oritolon, Alberto's wife gave birth to triplets. However events continued to conspire against Alberto with his wife dying short after their birth, having never really recovered from the ordeal.

Believing that his three new sons were a manifestation of the curse that seemed to plague him, Alberto largely ignored Masdus, Musad and Altaria, focusing his attention on his eldest son Santiago. The little wealth he still had was spent ensuring that Santiago has the skills and training that he lacked.

As Santiago came of age, showing great promise, Alberto passed away, leaving the family in the hands of his young sons. Immediately the rift, which his neglect of the triplets had created, tore the family apart. Santiago, believing that he was the new head of the family, made plans for the family to emigrate to Beluaterra. As the family was unknown there he reasoned that it would be easier to gain the honour and prestige his late father had desired

Young Masdus saw this as a betrayal of their father, insisting the family must stay and Oritolon. Already showing signs of the madness that would shortly over take him, he claimed to have spoken to the spirit of their father, who was trapped in the physical realm until his honour was restored.

Musad and Altaria both desired to break from the family and follow their own paths. Altaria like his father before him sought a new start on a sparsely populated island, choosing Dwilight has his new home. Musad on the other hand returned to Atamara, the island where his father had plied his original occupation of trader, and joined the Barony of Makar.

Musad

Musad, like his brother Masdus, took his fathers neglect hard. Early in life he tried hard to win his fathers favour, but his fathers repeated rebukes left him serious esteem issues. As he approached manhood he found solace in the bottom of a tankard, dragging the family name into further disrepute with his drunken antics.

After his fathers death Musad returned to the family’s homeland of Atamara. Whether this was in the hopes of repeating his fathers early success, or simply because ale was in more plentiful supply is not entirely clear.

Upon arriving he pleaded himself as a Knight to Edgar McBane, Baron of Jerkel, Marshal of the Makarian Horde and noble of the Barony of Makar. So far his has participated in cross border raids, losing many of his troop to a surprise attack by monsters while his men were dispersed gathering the spoils of war.

After many subsquent raids against the realm of Falasan Musad developed something of a reputation, at least amongst his men. He could always be found in the thick of any skirmishes, leading his troops into the ranks of the enemy. However the constant bloodshed and drinking, which for a while had been his escape became his downfall, with a druken brawl ending his life in Icegate

Altaria

Altaria is seeking his fortune on the island of Dwilight.

At first Altaria tried to make his way as an unaligened knight of the realm of Shadovar. However after an ambush by a large group of monsters Altaria found himself with a diminished troop, and little funds.

His savior came in the form the of the Lady Katayanna Ogren, Duchess of Port Raviel, who offered Altaria a position as a knight of Port Raviel on the 14-09-2008.

Shortly after this Altaria found himself as a knight of the newly formed region of D'Hara as his liege lord, The Lady Katayanna seceded from Shadovar. Furious at the behaviour and actions of the Lady Edith, who managed Raviel for Lady Katayanna, and under threat of being banned from the realm by the judge for attempting to exercise her right to demand loyalty and obedience from her oath bound lords, Lady Katayanna found herself with no option but break from the realm of Shadovar in order to protect those who relied on her.

Santiago

Santiago followed his brother Musad to Atamara, fearing that his drunken sibling would further embarass the family. His fears proved to be well founded as he found his brother had given his oath of service to a barbarian viking lord. After a heated argument with his brother Santiago left for the island of Beluaterra.
