Darkanism/Religious structure

The religion is led by three high priests of Sigrid, Darka and Lodril. The other ranks in the religion are also explained here.

Senior ranks

• High priest/priestess of Sigrid
• High priest/priestess of Darka
• High priest/priestess of Lodril

The high priests form a high council that decides on matters regarding the direction of the faith and on other important matters. Each of them are also responsible for the well being of the followers of their respective god/goddess. All that is required to become a high priest/priestess is dedication to ones god, firm belief and level thinking. The title is not given easily and must be earned. Each god can have only one High priest/priestess at any given time.

Priests

• Flame Bearer - A priest/priestess of Sigrid, who carry a metal pendant depicting a flame around their neck
• Ash Bearer - A priest/priestess of Darka, who carry a small pouch filled with ash around their neck
• Stone Bearer - A priest/priestess of Lodril, who carry a sphere shaped, black stone pendant around their neck

Common ranks

The ranks for non-priests.

The these ranks are for those who have chosen to praise one of the gods above the others. They carry rings on their middle finger to identify themselves.

• Sigrid's Warrior - who's simple silver ring that has flame engravings in it
• Darka's Guardian - who's silver ring, but it has a small locket that has ash in it
• Lodril's Sage - who's silver ring, but it has a small black stone embedded to it

• Scion of the Volcano

A rank for those who choose to worship all three gods as equal, not raising one above the other. They are identified by a simple and plain, metal ring, void of any engravings or other decorations. They carry it on their middle finger.

• Volcano Whisperer

A rank for non-priests who are in a position (for an example, a king, duke or just someone who can offer wisdom regarding the faith even though they are not a High Priest or Priestess) where the High Priest Council would like to hear their opinions. There can be many Volcano Whisperers, but they act merely as consultants and do not have voting privileges. Volcano Whisperers is a rank held by those held in high regard by those who occupy the senior ranks.
