A History of the Darkan War

In the recent past, the Kingdom of Darka was split by civil war, the nobility of Saler rebelled, electing their own king and forcing the old government to move to Azzal. The north of Darka, already independently minded, joined with the Saler rebellion. Eventually a peace was reached, with northern rebels controlling 14 realms, and the south only 6 and a proportionally small economy.

In November '02, a new king arose in Saler. Ozzy_Osbourne came to the Rebel throne, and restarted the civil war. To South Darka, and later to her allies Eston, Ozzy was most noted for his silence, and refusal to respond to messages. War had started, there was no diplomacy available, and they were massively outnumbered.
Whiteknight, King in Azzal, and his lieutenants, set about to fight for their lives.

Amazingly, through coordination and determination, the South Darkans won the first battles. Tolhuar was a killing field for days on end as army after army streamed in from the north. Finally, the rebel's army was destroyed and with no hope of peace, Azzal took the offensive, invading and taking over Rantire.

Eston, under the rule of Ordagon, took advantage of North Darka's absence of army to invade, taking both Wistir and Clintoc, before losing it's army against North Darka's rebuilt forces in a suicidal set of attacks on Saler. North Darka retook Clintoc while Hasland and Falasan invaded Eston, apparently intent on destroying it. Ordagon abdicated, handing the crown to Zanzibar. Zanzibar managed to not only dissuade Hasland and Falasan from destroying them, but also managed to convince them to convince the silent Ozzy to accept a peace, though still with no words spoken. Eston, though not permitted to act against the northern rebels by their big neighbors, became steadfast allies of South Darka, supplying both much needed food and later defense support, to the impoverished southern state.

South Darka continued it's victories, but it's control of the situation remained shaky.

Early on the first Sunday of February '03:
Saler, the last remaining region of North Darka, fell to Eston in hostile takeover after two days. The remaining rebel lords, Adam, Giryan, Mordred, Hadrial, Carnage Redeye, and jonrio, are at this time homeless.
It would seem the Rebellion is finally over.

When we first rebelled, we didn't elect a king we were a democracy and we elected a president. We were changed to a monarchy by a man named highlander, in North Darka's darkest time.

Note: I suspect this is pre-history, I only recall North Darka ever being a monarchy, initially under the pretender Ozzy_Osbourne?. Can a democracy even change to a monarchy?. Adam narrated it to me once, too, as if real. Despite being a much greater king, he smoked way too much Seven-Up. - Valglin

The war was inevitable, no two other realms were as predestined to go to war as the two Darkas. The battles at Tolhaur were extreme, but were in the tyrants favor due to the proximity of their capital.

Yes, we lost Wistir on the same day we lost Rantire, it was the beginning of the struggle on the home front. Eston's support meant that we couldn't send war parties south; we must go all the way around Clintoc to even go south or else the shaky cease fire would come to a bloody end. As I've said many times before Ozzy didn't have enough time to rule, but no one else would, until I came along...

Minor correction to what has been written here. Falasan negotiated a cease-fire agreement in which it gave back to Eston most of it's regions, and requested Hasland to do the same. Zanzibar of Eston bargained for various regions and came out with most of his realm intact.
