The History of Tomaas Darby

Tomaas Darby began his career in Fontan at the age of 20 (March 20, '04). In this time he has served Fontan loyally as a Soldier, Bureaucrat, Infiltrator, Philosopher, Judge, Mentor, and finally, Trader. He then moved to Yssaria at the age of 29 (Oct. 5, '05). In this time he has served Yssaria and Ibladesh as a Trader.

In his time as Judge, it had become apparent that Sirion was trying to manipulate Fontan and its people. Furthermore, it had become apparent that Alexi, then Chancellor of Fontan, was aiding Sirion in decieving the people of Fontan. At this time Lina Unti brought these and other findings to the attention of the people, forcing Tomaas to begin a public trial of Alexi. But their blind devotion led them instead to protest Tomaas out of office. In his last act as judge, he was forced to ban his long time friend Lina, feeling it best that she be asked to leave kindly by a friend not forcefully by an enemy.

Tomaas then became a menmtor, for in his idealism he still hoped to raise Fontan from its bloodlust and return it to the golden age of honour. But it soon became pparent that this would not work, for his first student was quickly banned. He then turned to the path of trading, and soon after found an opportunity to aid Lina in dealing with the evil Philippe d'Montnab.

With Philippe gone, Tomaas found the opportunity to save the Academy of Knowledge from whatever nefarius purpose Philippe had intended. From then on Tomaas has focussed his energies on building and expanding the Academy of Knowledge in an effort to bring higher learning to all people on the East Continent.

His efforts brought him to Yssaria where he has spent what spare time he could in an effort to keep the people of Ibladesh City fed.
