The History of Melchior
At the age of 20, (Dec. 15, '06) Melchior traveled to the Far East, where his small boat crashed on the shoals just off the coast of Mnalor in Arcachon. So far, none of the Darby family have stepped forward to claim Melchior as kin. But then, those few times he has claimed the name Darby, none have disputed it.
Little is known about this man, because he tends to be quiet and keeps mostly to himself. However, it is rumoured that he has recently taken up a partnership. Perhaps this will reveal more of his nature.
Recently, people have been heard speaking of Melchior reading from a book, seemingly bound in human skin. It is believed this is the Book of the Damned.
Although his first partnership amounted to little, Melchior has gone on to find new, more dedicated partners.
He was seen frequenting a strange hut in Lantzas. After arguing with the occupant(s) he was seen carrying an intricately carved, and blood stained club from the premises. The more superstitions peasants in the area wonder if this might be the long lost Sacred Club of Slaying spoken of in ancient legends.
One of his new partners, Valerian, impressed the nobles of the Far East enough to be elevated to knighthood. This leaves only himself and Periurium.
Recently Melchior was imprisoned by Sir Keffer Leonidas, Chancellor of Ethiala, Duke of Topenah. He then learned of his realm's war with Ethiala, and was offered a test of wits to win back his freedom. Later, the guards came and tortured him, and stole his gold. They also planned to kill him, but with the fear of death lending him extra strength, Melchior managed to escape. Few people now are able to talk kindly of Sir Keffer Leonidas in his presence and walk away unscathed.
