War expeditions

Nasgar joined the realm of Luria Nova, who fought the united realms of all over the continent (The League).

As a young noble, Nasgar had problems with authority and quite often had to change armies because of an arguement with the Marshal or Vice Marshal.

When the war with Fissoa ended in a success, Nasgar participated in a mission up north. A special army was assembled by Marshal Kilhorn Dodger. His liege King Idesbald and Marshal Kilhorn chose Nasgar to be the Vice Marshal on this expedition. Nasgar returned the Vice Marshalship not much later, due to being unavailable for a while. But the northern expedtion still continued.

Westfold

There was lots going on in Luria Nova. Battles against D'Hara, which were of no concern to Nasgar. He was still helping the Northern expedition against Astrum.

Nasgar was a member of a church called Ecclesial Sanguiastroism. It was something with stars and blood and needing battles. He didn't pay much attention to it, but it played a role in these many wars along the continent.

Soon after joining the Northern Expedition, Nasgar heard that we were meant to take some land for ourselves, so a new realm could be created for those who wished to be part of it. Under the new Marshal Rossgyr Shulee, more regions were taken and eventually a peace treaty was signed with Astrum. There would be room for this new realm. Nasgar intended to join Westfold, as he never was quite happy in Luria Nova. He could never integrate in the realm. They waited in Unterstrom Vorstadt for days if not weeks for the high officials to arrange the transfer of Unterstrom, which would be the new capital of Westfold.

So finally it happened. Westfold was created by King Rossgyr. Nasgar was appointed as Chancellor of the Exchequer (Banker), the first one of his family generation to rise to that position. Exciting times were ahead, as Westfold wasn't self-providing, at all.

War against Swordfell

Soonish, Nasgar was elected as Lord of Tamirak, a title that he still holds and is very valuable to him.

A war broke out against Swordfell and it would prove to be a very hard and long one. Most of the time, both parties just refitted and moved to Elntorak to take it over. Elntorak switched hands more than a girl of pleasure switched partners. The war was going back and forth until internal war started within Swordfell. Nasgar never heard what happened but apparently some Duke wasn't cooperating or was trying to grab power. A religion also caused some troubles, meaning Swordfell to lose regions to rogue very soon and Westfold being able to advance.

An agreement was reached in the end between King Rossgyr and their corrupt Duke/King Crixus. Westfold gained some regions and made a deal with Astrum and HD as well regarding some region swaps. A peace period would begin.

In this small intervall, King Rossgyr announced his retirement and a new King had to be elected. There only were 2 candidates, as not many people really cared. It were Earl Rhys Bolton and Khalkar Warleader Jonn Dodger.

A new King

New King Rhys Bolton won quite easily, 32 votes against 15 for the Khalkar Warleader. But Jonn wasn't too amused. He would, from that point on, criticise every move the new King made.

Westfold was once again on path of destruction, as the army was moving out once again towards Swordfell. A sneak attack, as one might say. But soon enough the new King was pressured into ending hostilities (which didn't even properly begun) and was driving Westfold more and more into a peaceful state. He stated Westfold could prepare for a new war and should start upgrading infrastructure and train some men.

Of course, the Khalkar Warleader was not satisfied and started protesting and insulting the new King. Nobody really cared but those two. Jonn challenged Rhys to a duel to the death multiple times, but King Rhys always refused. This situation changed some weeks later.

But in the meantime, some idiot called Frá leiðindum took the lordship of his region of Avernus with him into Westfold. He joined the realm and started to create more conflict than good. It was at this same time that Nasgar and Draco got into a heated discussion and Draco hired Frá to assasinate Nasgar, but he failed. From this time on, Nasgar kept protesting Draco but did not get much support. When he went to King Rhys for support, he told him his hands were tied.

You are surprised by a dark figure suddenly emerging from the shadows just as you are going to sleep. Desperate, you take out a dagger, the only weapon within reach, and face your attacker.
You manage to defend yourself until your guards arrive and the attacker flees.
The guards are unable to prevent the attacker's escape.

It was after this attack that Nasgar new his destiny, his true purpose on this continent.

The Rebellion

More than 2 weeks later, Jonn Dodger (Khalkar Warleader) called a rebellion against the current King and government. The Khalkar Warleader was also Duke and Lord of the capital and had the militia disbanded or assigned to rebel supporters. Soon, almost all nobles but the government joined the rebel side, as did Nasgar.

Jonn Dodger is calling for an uprising against the current government! In a passionate speech he said:
It is time to end the stagnation and return to the bold path.

Rhys, you have failed in every aspect of your rulership. You should have stepped down a long time ago, or duelled me and died with honor.

When you were first elected you I congratulated you and sought to work with you like I did with King Rossgyr.

It quickly became apparent that you were no Rossgyr however, you lacked both his courage and his tact and soon squandered the strong position we had built while ignoring my advice, ignoring the results of referendums, breaking all your campaign promises, and dishonoring the legacy of Rossgyr by lying about him to the other rulers.

It ends now, Westfold will return to the path of honor.

The government was overthrown and the Khalkar Warleader took the throne (renamed to 'Khalkar Warleader'). Glaumring Apasurain took the General role (renamed to 'King'), Smith greg took the Khalkar Executioner role and Dengar Soul took the Chancellor role.

Some more word-fighting went on between banned loyalist Rhys and Lord Jonn. Eventually the ban was lifted and the duel to the death between Rhys and Jonn happened. Rhys was no match for the skilled blade of Jonn and took the blow. Fortunally, he was still breathing and could escape death.

Rhys Bolton, Knight of Huanghai meets his challenger Jonn Dodger, Khalkar Warleader of Westfold, Royal of Westfold, Duke of Unterstrom, Margrave of Unterstrom, Marshal of the Khalkar Spear of Westfold for the agreed duel till death.
Jonn has decided to use the 'neutral' strategy while Rhys has chosen the 'trick moves' strategy, giving Jonn the advantage.
The duel runs its course, until Jonn delivers a fatal blow. The healers carry Rhys away, seriously wounded but still breathing.

Now things would run its course again and Westfold had to decide, again, what path to take.

Fight for survival

Truth been said, Nasgar wasn't very interested in politics on Dwilight. But it came to no surprise that soon Jonn initiated a war against Astrum. This did not went too well for Westfold because on the date that this piece of text was written, Westfold was only able to hold on to Unterstrom (its capital) and Caiyun, a townsland not connected which Nasgar was appointed Lord to.

Multiple peace offers had been made by the new King, Cregan Starck, since King Jonn disappeared again. But no acceptance by Astrum as they were out for blood and destruction. Who knows how long Westfold, with its 11 nobles, can last against Astrum?

The war raged on, while Westfold's only play was to hit and run back to the capital whenever they saw the opportunity. The tiny army of Westfold was no match for the giant ones of Astrum. Its nobles already planned their next destinations and a pact was made to stay together as much as possible.

Multiple offers were on the table. One of Garas Gabanus who wanted to make sure Unterstrom would be incorporated into Astrum but led by ex-Westfold nobles. Giask was offered by Luria Nova, or at least a plan to retake it with the nobles emigrating. While others had unfinished business up North. In the end, Avernus was chosen as realm to harbour ex-Westfold, or at least most of them.

A new realm

Taking everything they had, Westfold nobles left Unterstrom in group and made it to the shores to board ships to head North. Once arrived, allegiance was changed to Avernus and Nasgar was welcomed by their leaders. But soon the situation became clear that Avernus was overrun with Monsters and Undead coming from the shores. They already lost several regions and the Storm King, Balthazar, was absent as well.

Soon the elections for the government started and when Nasgar heard that Vasilif Dragomir Aurelius of Astrum was in Avernus' dungeons after trying to bribe-buy Unterstrom, he decided to put his name in the hat of Judge (Arch Purifier). In the end, Cerpin Taxt Beatrix (the former General) became Storm King. Agaric Thelyn (former Arch Purifier) became General and in fact Nasgar won the election to become Arch Purifier! While being wounded, the Vasilif escaped from his dungeons though.

The story of Nasgar continues, be it in a different realm and a different part of the continent. They had their own challenges, with the Monsters/Undead roaming their lands. But Nasgar felt welcome and looked forward to writing history together.
