Coster Family

For many generations, until very recently, the Costers were content to be minor nobility making a decent living from their extensive orchards in Barnlure, Carelia. The current patriarch and matriarch, Zebedee and Olga, have worked hard and have gradually grown their holdings and income. The younger generation however, either through a lack of education or an excess of it, have itchy feet and wandering minds.

Their eldest child, Leah, has so far been persuaded to stay at home, to slowly take responsibility for the business from her parents, though her repressed desire to run free is evident to all who get to know her.

Nahum took the traditional route and stayed in Carelia, becoming a knight of Garnagi. However, he became disillusioned with what he saw as the growing decadence of his realm, and upset by the lack of opportunities for advancement and glory. He reached the rank of vice-marshal, and was effectively acting-marshall, but his two more adventurous brothers were eclipsing him in honour and prestige. He therefore took the surprise step of emigrating to Beluaterra, where he is now fighting Netherworld hordes with Mesh.

Nahum's twin, Obadiah, left home at the same time, but felt his brother lacked ambition, and relocated to Minas Ithil looking for more action and glory. He found far more of the former, but survived becoming a hero during a time of great peril, and rose to the rank of marshal. Times are quieter now, and Obidiah is clearly impatient to find action again. He's been enjoying the recent spate of tournaments though.

Their younger brother, Torsten, looked to be the brightest but wildest of them all. He was, until very recently, busy consuming as much education as his parents could afford, but boarded a ship to the East Island whilst on a supposedly educational trip to Ser'quea. He fought for Itorunt there before joining Perdan. He is currently a marshal and has briefly been a count, and he is taking his responsibilities seriously.

Youngest are Annie, Zisa and Jehu, who as yet only cause their mother any trouble.
