House Brandon

House Brandon hails from Loratil, Atamara. The patriarch of the House, whose name is lost in the annals of history, bore only one son; Nigel Brandon. The youth was a scholarly boy, feeble but with a zeal towards learning and the greater mysteries of life. He quickly embraced the path of the priesthood and was lost during a religious uproar in Loratil. Desperate, the patriarch was seeking an heir to the lesser branches of his House even considering recognizing one of his bastards as his legitimate son.

The answer quickly came, when Anatole Malkavian, former member of Lasanar, happened upon the continent of Atamara during his long journeys. Anatole was once Duke of Colasan and Minister of Defence of Lasanar, but had abandoned his former realm in search of a personal quest. His long journeys brought him on the doorstep of the patriarch of House Brandon. Their meeting was to be fateful for the two men quickly came closer as a father and son. The patriarch adopted Anatole, whose House now was a lost relic in the history of the Far East.

The following winter, the patriarch fell ill and though the House physicians tried to save him, it was the gods' will for him to pass away. Anatole Malkavian Brandon became the new patriarch and with a new leader at it head, House Brandon spread towards the world, in pursuit of glory and fame.

Anatole

The patriarch of House Brandon. Anatole hails from Isular, a rural province of the Far East. He was raised to be Count of Isular. The reformation of Lasanar from a Monarchy to a Republic, saw Milan von Krondor raised to be Prime Minister of Lasanar and appointed Anatole the new Duke of Colasan. The wars with the Highland Empire broke and Anatole was appointed Minister of Defence. His leadership defended Colasan thrice, from dangerous sieges and brought the Lasanarian army to the capital of the Highland Empire, Akanos.

After the end of the war a religious uproard broke between Ethiala, Taeth Aenil and Lasanar, with Anatole's brother; Unmada, at its center. Anatole had to fight his own brother to save the realm from a new war and as a result his very core was shaken. He abandoned his realm and sought enlightement while he journeyed the world, Houseless and anonymous.

His journeys brought him, years later, to Atamara, where his fatefull meeting with the patriarch of House Brandon gave him a second chance to noble life. He returned to the Far East to find Lasanar gone. From its ashes two new realms had risen; Ohnar West and Cathay. He pledged his services to Cathay, which was the owner of Isular. Duke Henri de Bardt of Colasan, quickly appointed him Viscount of his old region.

Years passed and Anatole's service to the realm of the Golden Lion was growing more and more loyal. Henri de Bardt's sudden disappearance found Anatole thrust once more to the Dukeship of Colasan. His old post was naturally a duty he knew all too well how to perform. He was named High Marshal of the Crown of Cathay, by King James Blazeral Harker and led Cathay's armed forces. His contacts throughout the Far East ensured that he would be named Ambassador of Cathay soon after, during the reign of King Brian Hawkeye.

The days of King Hawkeye's reign were a series of sad events for Anatole. Finding himself disagreeable with certain people whom he deemed unworthy of representing Cathay, the actions of the realm of the Golden Lion within the next months drove him to desperation. He soon found others of similar mind and different origin. When King Hawkeye resigned, the last drop in Anatole's cup was the coronation of Optimus McGahee. Having deep sentiments of resent and a complete lack of trust towards the man, Anatole seceded along with the duchies of Ozrat and Akanos and formed the realm of Toupellon to salvage the princeples that Cathay used to represent. Now he reigns over Toupellon as its King, hoping to make a new home worthy of the past, for his people.

Taysir

A bastard of the former patriarch of House Brandon. He was taught the art of war by Anatole and quickly embarked to make a path of his own. He travelled to the East Continent, joining the Sultanate of Asena. His military knowledge brought him to the head of the Sultanate's Striking Fury, the elite force of the realm. He led with passion and the zeal that characterizes young nobles. A temporary appointment as Baron of Caqueta followed by his appointment as Pasha of the Sultanate and leader of the realm's armed forces. During the wars that followed he led the realm into a series of victories, and the ruler awarded him with the baronship of Kazan. He soon grew tired of all the constant warfare and needless bloodshed, of wars that had no beggining and no end and migrated to the Far East to join his mentor; Anatole. There he found a lordship awaiting, Zarimel was lacking a lord due to the low population of knights. The population matter was amended and he was replaced in order to serve Colasan and the head of his House. Anatole's new realm gave a new home and purpose to young Taysir, who thirsts for honour and glory.

Charles

Cousin to the former patriarch and minor noble of House Brandon. Charles had a love all things sinister. He dwelt in lost lore and dark secrets. He was ousted on numerous occasions for mingling with conjurers and unholy priests. His love for the dark arts brought him to Outer Tilog, a land infested with demons and witchcraft. There he embraced the Abyss, becoming a Dark Apostle and spreading faith and fear alike.
