It is rumoured that a few years ago, one of Charles' younger sisters fell in love with an adventurous older man, not known if he was a commoner or of noble blood. This man vanished after a short time, and in a few months, Gwynn Bluelake started showing signals of pregnancy. The family was outraged, and the father didn't want disnohour to befall them. Preparations were made to send the woman to a convent, but her brother helped her to scape just the day before, giving her time to reach the docks. In her room, the family found numerous letters the young dame kept changing with her lover, and eventually found out she had gone to an unknown land by his advice. The family breathed in relief. Rumour has it that the man was actually Zhou Tai.

Overseas, Gwynn arrived in beautiful but worn clothing and asked for help from the local commoners. She never mentioned her name, her family or her blood, only that she was called Gwynn and came from Atamara. The dame lived as a commoner, serving the lower nobility of Poryatu, and managed to raise her daughter until she was 6 years old. Gwynn was then killed, and the girl, sent to a family, to be their only daughter, with instructions of never mentioning her origin. Thus, Nina Tai was raised in Poryatu, by Lucy and Ceorl, tavern owner and hunter, respectively. Nina knows Lucy isn't her actual mother, but she has no memories of Gwynn, except for an ever fading image of her face.

The Story

Nina was raised in Poryatu, where she helped at her mother's inn and followed her father to every hunt. She was a very young woman when she became a good enough hunter to go out on her own, but only when she turned 20 did she decide to leave home and try to make a living out of hunting monsters and rotting beasts in regions close and far. She was never fond of nobility, but it wasn't too bad to gather the bounties they offered for a good hunt.

She hunted alone for some time, but she soon found a curious companion, Brandon Peveril, with a different accent, who helped her finish off several groups of monsters. They travelled all over Dwilight. There was even a time when Nina visited Darfix, the northernmost westernmost city of Dwilight. She had her share with the nobility of the continent: she was sent to prison, lost items to nobles, was beaten, threatened, and even courted and taken to bed. Not all of it was bad, and Queen Alanna and Royal Treasurer Proslyn were very generous with their compensation for a good work. There was also this nobleman who started showing up at eventful times, investigating her life. It was him who gave Nina the hint that her mother might have belonged to the same class of people she generally despised.

Yet, Nina avoided recognition for the rest of her life, leaving only a letter for her daughter to read after she died. With that, Lana was able to make her case and slowly gather enough power for her son to be able to join the recognized rank of knight in what was now Luria Nova. Lana established a manor in Orz, and Nina's grandson became a knight of the region when he reached the age of seventeen.
