Geography

Bisana's Tundra Landscape, home of the most rarest Tundra Plant's and Flowers in the World

Bisana is a beautiful plain of hilly and Rocky Tundra. It's flora is one of the broadest and rarest on the island. Many Rare Plants can be found here, the locals have an old tradition of using some of these plants as medicines and food. Some of these plants are such efficient food supplies, that only the most clever amongst Animals have nested here.

But not only foxes, ferrets and birds feel attracted to Bisanas hills. A group of horses of very small breed immigrated to Bisana a long time ago. For a long time, these noble creatures have served as vigilant Cavalry in the army of Fronen and before that, Melhed. Related to the horse lords of Gor Ault in passing, the two regions had a slight rivalry even before the division of nations. They were renamed "Punda's Pony's" in honour of an old lord of this region during the Fronen era of the Age of Reason, Count Punda.

Bisana is the most hilly and northern Tundra Region without forests or woods but boasts a small cache of iron, drawing settlers to work the earth.

Culture and Folkflore

The people of Bisana are hard working Religious village people. The region was divided in two religious streams, those who follow the Old Gods of the North and the Great Dragon of the West. There is not much problem between the two, they live in separate villages, and never had any problems of violence. Eventually the Great Dragon faith fell to ruin with the attacks of the daimons leaving only the Old Gods as the main religion.

The people of the Tundra are not real drinkers, they only tend to drink a few gulps of icor brandy in the Winter periods to keep each other warm. The drink is popular amongst northern regions familiar with the Old Gods tradition.

Bisana is known for the Chifro, a horn made out of wood, it generates a high noisy sound, audible for over several kilometers. It is known to scare off many kinds of animals. In summer time it is used as a musical instrument combined with the benjin drums.

History

A territory of Melhed in the Ages of Mystery and Blood, Bisana was lost to Fronen in the Defensive Alliance War in the closing days of the blood age. After the end of the second invasion, Bisana was again in Melhed lands under temporary compact with the people of Fronen. Seen as a sign of good will, the exchange helped to rebuild the bridges between the two nations. At one point, during a tournament in Fronepu, Prime Minister Aldo Unti, and Prime Minister Donald, met on the windy Bisana plains to duel. The contest ended in a draw, but the aggressive style of Donald would prove a powerful foreshadowing. Soon after the compact was revoked and Fronen troops entered the region intent on claiming it to 'feed Mhed' another region claimed without warning. That dark day marked the end of all bridge building, and the two nations would not enjoy any improvement in relations for nearly the entire age, until Prime Minister Cedric took the throne.

Places of Interest

A guild of local scribes, known as the Bisana Literary Guild, has been known to offer its services to any who have a message to be written, and the coin to afford it. Master Ywoil, the head scribe, teaches several apprentices the fine art of literacy here.
