Chapter I

On the vast blue sea where Neptune is king, a ship can be seen in the distance. The ship flew gracefully across the top of the ocean, fast but seemingly making no progress in the enormity of the ocean. On this ship bore mortals of different types. Men that wore raggedy clothes worked the ropes of the ship and one more pompous than them commanded the rope workers and turned the wheel. In the lower parts of the ship, music was fluent in the air. This music was cheerful and free and made one want to get up and dance. Ale was flung into the air as partners swung themselves around and around, hand in hand and a glass of ale in the other, dancing in one whole jubilee. In the back of the room there is a man sitting by himself. A bold and stern man that has scars all upon his face, he was definitely different than all the other Troop Leaders in a realm; Perhaps a Hero. He doesn't seem too interested in socializing, especially with these people. A woman approaches him and asks:

"Hey partner, wanna dance?"

"What? You couldn't find anyone else to dance with?"

"Na, I just figured a cutie like yerself would enjoy a dance with a cutie like myself."

"First of all, I don't find you pretty and second I'm already taken."

The Hero wasn't really married he just didn't like the woman. After he says that the woman scowls him with her eyes and walks away. The Hero walks up the stairs up to the top deck. He strides over to the Captain and asks:

"So how long d'you expect it to be?"

"Aargghh, It be the mid day. Not long 'till we hit shore, you land lover."

The Hero walks to starboard edge and gazes at the great blue. Hour after hour goes by of just looking into the blue down below and up above.

Up in the Heavens their lie much hostility. Apollo, enraged from the way Dionysus acted at a party, nearly broke free of his 90 degrees to strangle the wanton girly god.

"Dionysus, I swear by Jove, if you don't straighten up at these formal parties all of heaven is going to see my arrows fly!"

"Oh Apollo, you have to relax just once in your life. Here, try some of this wine; I made it myself!"

"Dionysus I can't possibly understand how you can live the way you do. Your 'wine' has made many mothers childless. Doesn't that make you feel guilty?"

"Frankly, only for a second. I can't possibly understand the bond between a mother and a child since I never had one."

Just then, Ares comes charging in the room on his chariot pulled by wild horses. He crashes through a few chairs and jumps off. He quietly sits down at the table and looks back at everyone that has just been shocked at his barbaric entrance. Aphrodite comes to greet him and jumps into his lap.

"How was war my gladiator?"

Aphrodite hands him a goblet of wine. Ares vigorously tears off a leg of turkey and begins to talk mouth full of wine and turkey.

"As bloody as the red horizon! I even ran out of rags to dry off my blade. If it weren't for me, the Greeks would be reaped of their souls by that greedy Hades."

Hermes interjects.

"Ares, you lyre. I saw the battle play out and the first petty scratch you were so deeply injured with you fled like flies leaving a dung pile that lost its flavor. And of course Apollo was there back at home to treat your wounds so you could make that sweet sound when you enter battle like a scared kitten"

"Hermes, you want me to slice those pretty wings off your feet? I suggest you shut up!"

Ares thinks briefly and replies with whatever comment he could think of in retaliation.

"And besides, dung doesn't have a flavor you idiot! ... uh... n-not to say that I have tasted it..."

Aphrodite intervenes between Hermes and Ares.

"Both of you quit it. Ares had a hard day today. Isn't that right, my manly beast?"

Ares smirks. Hermes sits down on the opposite side of the table and drags a bowl of soup with bread crumbs sprinkled on it. He smiles and says.

"My soup has foam on it. Isn't that quite odd? I think I’m eating your lover, eh Ares?"

Ares wrenches out his sword and charges towards Hermes. Crushing everything in front of him. Zeus swings in front of Ares and repels his charge. With Zeus's mighty voice he speaks:

"Now Ares, let's settle down and keep violence to a minimum."

"I second that, father." Says Apollo.
