The Guide

The Ash Sea Islands is a kingdom that has existed since civilisation first sprang up on the face of Atamara. In that time her fortunes have ebbed and flowed and although she is now reduced to five regions, she has held a great range of territory in the past. Now, some of those acquisitions shall be explained here in the Guide in addition to information about current regions of Ash Sea Islands.

Mapo

The Ash Sea Islands once fought bitterly with the Kingdom of Southasland for ownership of Mapo, with Mapo changing hands between the two more than once. The final change of hands came when a rebellion overthrew the lawful monarch and Tuchanon III was declared. The resulting war saw Southasland wiped from the face of Atamara, and the Ash Sea Islands in undisputed control of Mapo. It was many years before Mapo was eventually lost to Tara in the Great Ashlantean War, resulting in the first non-Ashlantean Baron to be appointed there in generations.

Nazia

Nazia came under Ashlantean sovereignty at least twice during the latter stages of the Great Ashlantean War. This was not due to the actions of the Ashlantean military however, but a result of the rabble rousing of Lord Jonny Usurper, a Priest of Magna Serpænsism. The region swiftly descended back into anarchy as a result of the yawning gap between Ash Sea Islands and Nazia, not to mention her strong historical ties to Falasan.

Sullenport

Sullenport first fell into Ashlantean hands during the autumn days of the Great Taran War. Having divided the Taran Empire into three pieces as a result of her expansion, Duke Victor of Sullenport delivered an ultimatum to Tara that if an army could not reach the city, then he would change allegiance. The Tarans tried valiantly, but in the end were unsuccessful and the loss of Sullenport heralded the beginning of the end for Tara. The city was then rebuilt and after the war, was handed to RedSpan in a gesture of a friendship, seems as Sullenport was the ancient capital of their kingdom.

The second time Sullenport fell into Ashlantean hands was as part of a deal with RedSpan. It was in part retribution for RedSpan's part in the loss of Ash'rily. The treaty saw the return of Sullenport to Ash Sea Islands in return for relations of peace to continue during RedSpan's war against Tara, Darka and the Cagilan Empire. The city was eventually handed back to RedSpan under the terms of another deal.

Tucha

The Ash Sea Islands found herself taking temporary stewardship over the city of Tucha during the war with the Northern Federation. This event was triggered by the dishonourable secession of Duke Torin Capashin to form the realm of Capashinia. The realm quickly fell into anarchy however, with Duke Torin having to flee his city in shame. Ashlantean forces were quick to come and crush the peasant revolt and Nautilus Spiliz, former King of Ash Sea Islands, was appointed as temporary Duke. Within a week, Tucha had been returned to Falasan and the Northern Campaign began again in earnest.
