BREAKING NEWS: SULLENPORT REVERTS

The city of Sullenport falls back under the control of the Ash Sea Islands as resistance fails. Sullenport was seized by a combined force of Ash Sea Islands and Falasan. The city is being hosed out and perfumed at this time.

BREAKING NEWS: Cagilan Empire Slams Carelia in Tichi

Repulsed yesterday, Carelian forces attempted to strike Tichi yet again today but were intercepted by a large Cagilan Empire battle group and defeated. Ash Sea Islanders cheered when they heard the news. This editor had thought that Carelia had stated earlier that they would only assist in defending and did not plan on attacks? Perhaps not.

BREAKING NEWS: Carelia Repulsed in Tichi

Reports have arrived that Carelian forces attacked the garrison at Tichi this morning. ASI and Falasan defenders were outnumbered more than two to one yet held their positions as the Carelian attack disintegrated.

BREAKING NEWS: Sullenport Walls Stormed

A combined force from Falasan and Ash Sea Islands stormed the walls of Sullenport this morning, easily pushing aside Redspanian defenders who were outnumbered 6 to 1. Several small skirmishes by militia were reported as ASI forces began to establish control but the militia were surrounded and disbanded.

BREAKING NEWS: King Mourns Drago Dragonheart

In a statement to his subjects in response to many queries, King Doc's Revenge Primus acknowledged the death of a man he called "a legendary warrior" and related that he had thought of Drago as a father. The King related that he was "very saddened by the tragic loss". The death of Dragonheart has been received in ASI with a remarkable amount of sadness given the low regard for everything Abingtonian these days. This fact in itself points to the quality of the fallen warrior.

BREAKING NEWS: Abington Counter-Attacks in Meldeen

Abington and allied forces have counter-attacked in Meldeen, catching a Tara/Darkan force there still recovering from yesterdays battles. The battles in Meldeen are certainly a see-saw affair with none of the combatants so far able to establish dominance. The Triple Federation has resources and has shown it has no glass jaw, but is also fighting on multiple fronts. Which side will make a breakthrough? It remains to be seen.

BREAKING NEWS: Victory in Meldeen

Major victory for Cagilan Empire, Darka, and Tara in Meldeen versus a Triple Federation holding force in the region. Shirogane of Abington was captured, Stumpy of Redspan was seriously wounded in the battle. Cagilan Empire, Darka, and Tara may be regaining the initiative in the Meldeen area.

BREAKING NEWS: Victory in Rogeshore

Small Abingtonian forces crossed into Ash Sea Islands territory at Rogeshore and engaged the garrison their. After a short battle, the invaders were repulsed handily.

BREAKING NEWS: Drago Dragonheart, Former King of Abington, Killed in Duel

Details are sketchy, but Drago Dragonheart, former King of Abington, has been slain in a duel. According to the Abington press, Dragonheart was killed during a duel with Doc's Biatch Primus, a subject of Abington. The start of Dragonheart's reign in Abington proved the start of a new era for ASI and the return of Ash'rily and some of our island lands. Dragonheart is remembered primarily in ASI as a tough but able negotiator. Some nobles in ASI reacted with shock at the news and indicated that Dragonheart would be one of the last Abingtonians they would have wished ill.

ASI Asserts Control of Rogeshore

The renegade elements within Rogeshore have finally accepted the situation and the province is back under the control of Ash Sea Islands. ASI troop leaders are proud to say that, as in Byblack, even enemy sympathisers were not harmed unless they directly took up arms against ASI forces and that there were no cases of theft or pillaging amongst either Ashlantean forces or those of allied Falasan during the takeover. Ashlanteans have been cheered by the recovery of these wayward regions and are grateful for our Falasan allies without which it would not have been possible.

Abington Retakes Meldeen For Redspan

Redspan officials have reasserted control of Meldeen. This is a setback for the Cagilan Empire, Tara, Darka forces in the West. Hopefully they will regain their footing and will be able to once again be able to advance. With Falasan/ASI forces pushing forward in the east and CE/Tara/Darka forces moving in the West, the two-front war is difficult for even the Triple Federation under a powerful Abington to deal with consistently.

Diplomacy Iffy

Reports are that diplomatic efforts between all the parties has its fair days, and its bad days. Mostly bad apparently as there have been no breakthroughs apparently either in the West or the East. Negotiations were slowed for a while by alleged internal political delays on the other side, but nothing came of it once negotiations were restarted so it is assumed it was all merely a delaying tactic. News events have been slow in coming recently as the sides fight over the same ground in Redspan. The Triple Federation seems to be able to throw up a shield to ward off blows and get in a few of its own, but has been unable to really seize the initiative.

Religion Breaks Out In Mapo

Reports of a spiritual revival in Mapo are coming in with a popular figure preaching to the masses. We know very little of the beliefs, precepts, or dogmas of this new mystery religion but it did raise some eyebrows in Ser'quea. As long as it does not affect the output of Mapan Ale we are prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt until we hear more.

Editorial

We note that this newspaper has gotten some attention in Abington. The despoiler of Ash'rily, Gabriel, made mention of us in an interview. He dismissed our content as propaganda. But, what happened to Ash'rily is no propaganda, the whole continent saw it. The plans to destroy Tara were no propaganda, the whole continent saw it. Gabriel claims that he had to take Ash'rily to prevent the smaller ASI from attacking. He took more of ASI, I guess sort of by accident there at the end while the cease fire was being signed. The duel with Silver Stone that turned out to be a dishonorable trap is portrayed as an honorable action on Gabriel's part. The totally unnecessary execution of Vigilantius after Abington was clearly victorious is not propaganda. We can fully understand Abington's unwillingness to negotiate in good faith and their feeling that they can do whatever they want. They have had the blessings of geography, wealth, even if they did not have the blessings of honorable and good rulership. Besides, they have a smaller puppet realm to willingly absorb the damage of their policies. We have nothing bad to say of their nobles, they were stirred up into a dishonorable war. Their current leader, Carriantor, might be a good one. But it is difficult to tell because what he has to deal with is a big mess left over from before. Sometimes Kings are left with fewer options to make their own path than even a simple soldier. We are not privy to the internal workings of Abington, but just judging from the interviews and public appearances it looks like Gabriel is still the power there even though he no longer officially has the throne.
