BREAKING NEWS: ASI Moves on Rogeshore

Forces from ASI and Falasan advanced into Rogeshore this morning, pushing aside several small units of Redspanian militia and instituting a takeover of the heretofore starving region.

BREAKING NEWS: Abington Federation Loses Its Footing

The Triple Federation has suffered another setback, this time in Atblane. A large Abington-led force attempted to enter Atblane and break up the slightly smaller allied army gathered there. The defenders from Tara, Darka, and CE held their ground admirably during a closely fought contest and the attacking Triple Federation army broke.

This setback is combined with some leadership issues within the alliance as some key figures have been wounded, imprisoned, or out of touch. Negotiations between ASI and Abington have been stop and start recently, have led to nothing, and have neared the breaking point once again. The capture of an illegal Abington trader stealing ASI food in Lerss in recent days did not help and raised eyebrows in Ser'quea. How badly does Abington need food if it has to resort to stealing from Lerss?

With setbacks in both Atblane and Meldeen, key troop leaders wounded or imprisoned, and political disarray, the Triple Federation seems to have lost its footing. Whether the Triple Federation can recover lost ground is the question. The Triple Federation remains a most powerful combination. But sometimes a loss of footing can lead to an unwelcome cascade of events. Triple Federation troop leaders may have a taste of that potential after experiencing Meldeen and Atblane. The current war seems to be one of those grinding wars of attrition. Something that a single battle can postpone, but not push away.

As for ASI, it is the opinion of this paper that Abington does not take ASI, it's King, or negotiations with ASI seriously. That is their choice but it may be a mistake. Time will tell. But ASI still has some teeth left and we have not gone away.

Abington Whipped In Meldeen

Abington and its followers were beaten back by combined forces of Tara, Cagilan Empire, and Darka in Meldeen tonight. Though outnumbered, the defenders in Meldeen put up a stiff resistance, sending the Abington-led forces back in disarray. The battle was huge according to reports with 52,000 for the attackers and 42,000 for the defenders. Leader losses on the Abington side were high, most notably, Spiritmonger, the High Marshal of Abington, Count of Chasnoff is in low spirits tonight as he makes his way to a Cagilan Empire prisoner camp somewhere north of Meldeen.

Phony War

Ash Sea Islanders have been enjoying themselves in the capital as negotiations continue. Many friendly duels were fought and much Mapan ale was consumed. Visitors from afar were somewhat taken aback by both the drinking prowess of ASI troopers and their willingness, nay eagerness, to put each other's eyes out for fun during the down times.

Abington Draws Out Diplomatic Talks

Abington officials requested more time for discussions due to various problems in the Triple Federation's junior members. Namely, the status of the rulership of RedSpan. Many of the Ash Sea Islands nobility viewed the situation as simply a tactic to drag out negotiations. Much like the situation during the war on the islands while the Abington looting campaign was ongoing.

Editorial

Abington and allies continue to show themselves to be a danger. Coordinated efforts are needed. Even with many realms bent on showing them the error of their ways, the Triple Federation has still proved itself dangerous to all by pushing half of the combined armies back. If the Triple Federation cooperates closely, and their enemies do not, they will be victorious even if outnumbered. It is to the individual benefit of all the foes of the Triple Federation to communicate and cooperate closely until this thing is finished.
