Ignoble Thief Escapes Justice

One Sembra, late of ASI, escaped justice and was seen boarding a ship to the Southeast Island. The ignoble Sembra requested a 50 gold loan for maintenance of his troops. The loan was granted and Sembra absconded with the funds in a most ignoble and dishonorable manner. Many ASI nobles, sickened by the event, have vowed revenge should Sembra ever return to Atamara and would likely pay a reward for his return. Those who hold honor dear will remember the name Sembra wherever they may be, and also hold their purses tight when he nears.

Triple Federation Strikes Back

The triple federation of Abington/Carelia/Redspan proved its dangerousness once again as it defeated a massive combined force of Cagilan Empire, Darka, and Tara in both Meldeen and Atblane, essentially pushing the allies back out of Redspanian territory and putting them back on their heels. The conflict began after a series of provocations on the part of the triple federation, starting with attempted assassinations of visiting dignitaries and a misplaced letter that indicated plans for a combined attack on Tara.

New Ruler in Abington

The ill-renowned ruler of Abington, Gabriel, has stepped aside leaving a legacy of mistrust and dishonor in his wake. Diplomatic sources indicate that it is still too early to tell about the new ruler, Carriantor, but that at he at least appears to be observing the diplomatic niceties which is a welcome change from past practice.

Byblack Liberated by Allied Forces. Returns to ASI Control

Redspan occupation forces were booted from Byblack by a combined force from multiple realms. Ash Sea Islands officials quickly rounded up Redspanian civilian officials, Byblackian turncoats, goats, enemy sympathizers and sent them all packing. The region was then quickly returned to ASI rule.

Editorial

The power of the triple federation, and its danger to all of Atamara, is now obvious with the losses in Meldeen and Atblane. A federation with the power and wealth of this one will be difficult to bring to reason. It is possible for realms to have differences and even grudges with one another and still behave honorably toward one another. It is possible to meet on the battlefield and still treat the enemy with respect. But it is dishonorable to treat with a forked tongue and make agreements with no intent of adhering to them from the start. It is dishonorable to commit a campaign of looting of totally unecessary breadth on innocent civilians who you intend to make your own subjects. It is dishonorable to attempt to assassinate various diplomats and travelers. It is dishonorable to conspire to overrun enemies with surprise attacks for the sole purpose of powermongering. It is this dishonor that the various realms of Atamara must put aside their differences to curb. Thankfully, many have decided to do so.
