Peace in the Ash Sea Islands

After a conflict spanning almost an entire year (a remarkable feat when considering the Ash Sea Islands fought alone against so many foes), today the Ash Sea Islands finally signed a peace treaty with the southern coalition after weeks of wrangling following the fall of Ash'rily. In a speech, King Malice hailed the agreement with a strong defence of its terms and the assertion that Atamara was better off for an Ashlantean voice and the existence of the Ash Sea Islands. Despite this, there has been strong resistance across the kingdom to the new treaty.

Priests of Magna Serpaensism are known to be particularly angry at some of the terms of the treaty, especially with several currently operating outside of the realm and unlikely to be able to make a return. There is also no shortage of nobles who think the Ash Sea Islands would have been better off fighting to the death against her enemies rather than accepting the harsh terms forced on her by this peace treaty. The most cynical believe that the treaty will prove to be little more than a stay of execution. We can only pray that's not the case. -Wolfram
