Nobles of Arcaea,

I have reorganized the Royal Council into the Phoenix Court. For the name itself, Arcaea has been reborn in recent years, and I believe the Phoenix, aside from being my personal crest, symbolizes this well. In addition, there will be a few other changes…

Firstly, I will have a permanent traveling Court. Those nobles on the list of the Phoenix Court rolls will be allowed to participate in said Court, and the Phoenix Court will also serve the function of the previous Royal Council. Again, membership is open to any and all who contact me and ask to join.

Secondly, the premier positions within the Court are those of the Unicorn Guards. There will be five, one to guard the King, Queen, Lord Protector, Imperial Chancellor, and Imperial Magistrate during official meetings of the full Court. Their function will be ceremonial in nature, but still important nonetheless. One will be chosen from each duchy, by the Duke or Duchess as he or she sees fit. Only nobles without the additional honour of a Title will be allowed to serve as Unicorn Guards (thus Seconds of armies can serve, but not Marshals or Lords), to ensure that some of our newer nobility may have this honour. The Guards will be appointed each month, on the day when the Republics and the like of the island hold their elections. No noble can serve consecutive terms, to ensure some turnover, although they may serve as many times as their Duke or Duchess sees fit.

The olde roots

It was a long time ago, when the Fairytales, Krawolga and Thyme families gave their blood for Arcana. Isn't it strange that those who helped to save the realm in it's darkest hour, commanding the Field of Honour in long campaign, when enemies marched against it from every side, are now not mentioned in any books of history?
