Audax had come some time ago to the lands of Fronen and had gone several times hunting small groups of restless dead and monsters. He had heard in some taverns he usually visited to rest about monster activity in Marpii. The narrow valley between Xhahgus and Jyl mountains was a good spot for groups of monsters to camp, sheltered in the many caves of the area.

The adventurer had kept track of their activity for some days, following traces and noises. He waited until they placed their camp, close to the lake that divides Fronen and Old Grehk. He knew they couldn't swim, so he decided to launch his attack facing the lake, when the sun rose in his back, shooting arrows from several spots to increase the fear and disorder of the small horde. The wretches shouted confused, seeing many of their henchmen fall by the hand of an invisible enemy hidden behind the morning sunlight.

When they were pushed closer to the lake, Audax left his hiding place and ran yelling like a creature from the underworld towards them. Some of them left their weapons and ran, jumping into the lake where they died drowning in the water. One of them however wasn't surprised and set fight.

The chieftain, an enormous beast covered in a roughly carved leather and iron armour, faced his enemy with fast blows that whistled in the air, close to his enemy's flesh. The fight lasted for long time, but after dodging a mortal strike of the beast, Audax jumped and pierced the chieftain's neck with his sword.

The camp was a mess, covered in the blood and bodies of many dead monsters. Audax took a quick look and then he spotted a quiver. It was rare to find missile weapons within the monsters, as they generally preferred close combat brutal tactics. When Audax took it, he saw amongst the arrows a very particular one. Finely carved with precious metals, some runes were written on it.

Back on the village where he was resting, he asked a wise old man. The object turned out to be a mighty weapon from old days now forgotten; the last of the Ancient Arrows of Daemonslaying. The adventurer smiled. He could imagine a wealthy lord would appreciate such fine item in his collection.
