General Information
Towering over the city of Agyr, the ash stained remains of Imperial Palace stand as a testament to the implacable will of one man, and the hubris of another. In their glory days the golden palace was visible from as far away as Tepmona, bathing the city in the radiant light of the sun. It served as a reminder to the authority of the Emperor and his all-encompassing gaze.

Passing through the huge double doors of the main gate, one could travel past the famed Guardians of the Sun and the painfully incapable Palace Guards down cathedral-like avenues to the Great Hall. Within those halls glittering statues stood ever vigilante watching all who would stride across the still visible mosaic map of the world. The statues are gone now though, as are the intricate tapestries depicting the bloodiest battles of the Age. All that remains is the shattered remnant of the Golden Throne where once sat the Emperor himself.

During the time of the Republic the palace remained a repository for treasures untold, a reminder of the Age of Blood. Books of history, philosophy, law, plays, poems, and mathematics sat next to armour, and weapons still bloodied and worn from their time in the field. Alas all this was shattered in the Age of Ruin.

Grand Duchess Kalixta JeVondair despised the glory on display as it was a sharp reminder of her own failings. Thus on the eve of surrender of that noblest of cities she had the palace torched and all the great works cast into the mud. Such is the pettiness of the weak they must destroy those who are great to find any peace.
