Region maintanance in war islands has nothing to do (in my hample opinion) with other continents.

Loyalty is the key stat. When you treat loyalty nicely, production and morale will be your friends. If you insist on firstly taking care of control through continuus harsh courts, then the morale and production will fall, and loyalty won't improve most times as well.

The last year I noticed that whenever I tried to fix a region with patience caring for loyalty first I succeeded. Whenever I tried to maintain control and then fix the rest of the stats, i ended in to having a burned region that really disliked us. Even if you have to leave the region to go refit or go to the front it is better to leave it heal by itself than hold a hrash court. Just hold a just court and leave if you have to.

A great example was the case of Taselak City in SWI: As long as we tried to keep the region with harsh courts we were losing it a bit every turn. Morale and production were falling and falling, until the region went to <10% stats. That is when we decided to let the region heal by itself, and when the just court option opened we started performing ONLY just courts till loyalty got to 95%+. Then we had the support to operate harsh courts without problems.

It is a common mistake in trying to hold a burned region in war islands with harsh courts. Please refrain yourselves from doing that.

The exeptions were harsh couts are recommended in burned/low stats regions are when:

1. When region is occupied AND you start getting revolting messages (Peasants are revolting. Region production is falling x%)

2. When it is a border region AND we do not care about the region AND we just want to delay the occupying of the region by the enemy.

3. When it is a border region AND the enemy is attacking to get it. (we hold a harsh court in order to improve temporarily control in case the enemy wins the battle and initiates a TO)

The three basic principles:

Please follow the action plan I refer to, below.

1. Perform just courts till you achieve loyalty of 95+%. Morale and prductivity will follow, do not worry.

2. When you perfect loyalty work on control.

3. Deviate from the above rules only if you start getting revolting messages.

Regions heal by themeselves. Insisting in keeping core control will not get you anywhere if you do not have loyalty to support it. It will just make the peasants hate you and the realm, resulting in greater problems in the future.

If anyone has any questions-comments I would be pleased to answer them. You can contact me via the discussion page here or the Academy of Knowledge in East Continent. My brother Nightmare will be very happy to answer.
