Xuanye Awarded the Order of Abington
After peace was achieved with ASI, Xuanye, High Marshal of Abington, stood down and subsequently was nominated to receive the Order of Abington, Abington's highest award. A vote amongst the Royal Council confirmed that he was granted this honour, for his outstanding performance as general during a time of dire crisis.

Xuanye is the first noble to have won this award, although it seems likely that nobles such as Deschain, Feldric and Elantus will be candidates to posthumously receive the Order as well. In keeping with the intended prestige and purpose of the Order of Abington, nobles are not expected to be granted the Order frivolously, lightly or as favours, but for the type of service exemplified by those fallen heros giving their very lives for the greater good of Abington.

Darka Burned, Raped and Killed to "Advertise"
Although Darka's criminal behaviour during the War of Annihilation is by now well-known, it is important not to forget the truth. According to confessions given by several captured Darka mercenaries, Darka was not under contract to attack Abington, but did it to "advertise" their "superior military" to "potential clients."

This startling fact, in contrary to what little integrity Darka has even as a "Mercenary Company," reveals a hypocritical and dangerous attitude to the world, and a misunderstanding of reality bordering on the insane. For Darka was only able to pillage when they did because Abington was besieged by several other realms at the time, and Darka's armies did not make it back home. Thus it would seem a poor choice for showing off military prowess, except that in sacking Suville and other regions so murderously and loathsomely that they could say, "Look what we are willing to do."

It is a commonly held belief that Darka only attacks realms when under contract ("just business," as one Darkan noble described it after raping a peasant woman), but this and the fact that Darka has declared war on RedSpan disproves this notion. Darka, as a self-described "Mercenary Company," can be said to be a non-sovereign, non-realm; certainly the despicable actions carried out by Darkans on unarmed peasants goes to show that Darkans themselves are non-noble.

It's the contention of this author that Darka's capriciousness, dishonour, lack of nobility and their allegiance only to gold and depravity show that Darka poses a threat to any and all sovereign realms.
