In Their Own Words

The ASI propaganda machine would have us believe that the Ash Sea Islands are fighting this war for "honour." But if what they publish to the world is sickening, what they keep secret is unbelievably hypocritical. While Abington is accused of having an "elitist" mentality, the Islander snakes view themselves as the only champions of justice in the world. For example, in Doc's Revenges own words: "We stand with the wronged...and we fight for Honor. Who else on this Island does that? No one. Who else in the world? No one." Certainly, if a word comes to mind when reading this sentiment, "elitist" is often that word. Meanwhile, we in Abington were told that ASI 'spared' us when they came to attack Wayburg, saying that they went solely to 'defend their allies' and implied that we should be grateful for the honour and mercy of their 'restraint.' But what was the real reason they didn't attack Riverholm? Mercy? Restraint? No - fear of defeat, as DR himself explains: "It is very simple, Moses...they have over 10k in Riverholm...and we have nowhere near double that...we would massacre our army in those walls. It is better if we tried to blitz across and disrupt the TO, in an open field battle, than to smash our faces in their capital." Fear of getting your face smashed is very reasonable - but it's got little to do with honour. The Ashlanteans also have little regard for their allies - but then, they already believe even their allies do not "fight for Honor," so this is no surprise. DR has himself described Talerium as "bastards," and other realm mates call Minas Ithil "imperialistic." If only ASI displayed such honesty to other realms! But then, maybe if they did, other realms wouldn't be so willing to allow ASI to expand, eh? And when it comes down to it, ASI expanding is what this war is all about. "Taking over Wynford+Riverholm+another Rural would greatly increase the odds of Abington accepting a surrender in lieu of creating a Colony. Falasan Joins In

Falasan joined in the war on ASI's side a day earlier when their combined forces attacked the Abington county of Worav. Though repulsed, the attack signals a new and darker twist to the war as an ally of Abington's ally attacks her.

Assassinations Continue

More honourable and valiant enemies continue to terrorize nobles in the middle of the night with poisoned daggers. In the past week alone, Countess Mia, Lady Ishtar, Lucivar, Leila, were seriously wounded, numerous others have been wounded or threatened, and other sabotage attempts have been perpetrated by enemy infiltrators. I Will Survive, a notorious traitor of Abington and equally notorious ASI infiltrator, was recently captured and banished just before he could make an assassination attempt on Lord Altmon.
