About the Region

Wynford County is a rural, unmarred, gently rolling plain on the north-east coast of Abington, dominated by an East Islands climate and noted for it's fertile harvests and vintages of wine (from which it gets its name). It's population of roughly 6,000 live in a total of 14 villages.

Woring

A northern coastal fishing village, culturally closer to the Ash Sea Islands than Abington Main. It's residents trade commonly with Wor'ight and Riverholm both, using Islander punts and pinnaces more than the undeveloped roads of the area.

Creekton

In the heart of wine country, this inland, wooded village is split by an annual creek which flows west toward the Great River. Creekton wine is particularly strong, and jealously guarded from soldiers who are "likely to become enamored of it's vintage without desiring to pay."

Bellton

Little is notable about this village other than it's large and ancient church bell, which can be heard for miles around.

Wynfordshire

Centrally located, carved onto a small hill in the middle of wine country, Wynfordshire is the seat of the County, where the Fort of Wynford overlooks and protects the land, and the Count's Manor dominates the village commons. It is the most populous village with 530 residents, adjacent to the large, ancient stone road which connects, ultimately, Riverholm with Narville.

Wynfordshire is also home to the Abington School of Swordfighting.

Graniteville

A smallish village in the rocky eastern coast, noted for it's quarries of limestone and granite.

Cobbler-on-Marsh

Sitting right on the edge of Wynford's Swamp, this unlikely village is inhabited by salt miners and hardy woodsmen instead of peasant farmers. In ancient times, they would be slaves, but today they are free men holding marginally more status than the common serf. They tend not to associate with the rest of the County except to trade, holding themselves oddly self-sufficient, and the guards of Wynford Fort are unlikely to come to their defense unless explicitly ordered to by the Count.

Oeton

A small farming village, bordering Dorton County.

Sardine

One of three main fishing villages on the great Eastern Ocean, Sardine is actually more of a bass and lobster port than the comparitively seasonal sardine.

Coveton

Coveton is a largely unremarkable fishing village on the Eastern Ocean, except for it's picturesqure shoreline coves and caves, it's offshore reefs.

Whaleport

Featuring a perfectly natural harbor well-suited to accomodating larger whaling boats or ships, Whaleport is indeed known for it's hardy brand of seafaring whalers and fishers. Aside from Narville City, Whaleport is the closest place in this area one could find cheap whale-oil, blubber, whalebone or other such products.

Hilltonshire

Not far from Oeton, this farming village occupies the second-highest point in all Wynford, and was once a part of Dorton County.

Clayshire

A few miles from Graniteville lies Clayshire, a tiny village of less than 300, notable only for it's pottery and brickwork.

Richfield

Second-largest village in Wynford with a population of 510, flat Richfield is irrigated dairy farmland.

Dorville

Dorville is a quiet farming village in the midst of south Wynford.
