Singing winds, treacherous mountain paths and hidden crevasses make crossing Windaria a challenge for even the most sure-footed local. The region's dangerous landscape and inhospitable weather has been the downfall of many an invading army, making Windaria a natural defensive wall protecting adjacent regions.
Perched at the southern tip of the Windar Sierra mountain range, the population of Windaria rely heavily on the Windarian mountain goats and maca plants, both which survive on nearly vertical rock-faces. The unmistakable 'Scarlet Marl' only grows in Windaria. This mossy plant, when dried, is a much sought-after flavoring for food and yields a mildly narcotic liqueur when properly distilled.
About half of the population live secluded in traditional squat stone huts deep in the mountains. Others dwell in the fortified town of Julius' Stand. Named in honor of the legendary Lord Julius, who single-handedly defended the people of Windaria from invasion, this small town is home to the distillers, tanners and cheese makers that drive the modest economy.
The fortification of Windaria was no more. Destroyed in a fire let by unhappy peasants.
