Origins

There will always be those who are considered evil by the general population. One group that seems to always fall under this category are the necromancers. The manipulate the dark arts to return life to those already dead. An army of immortal servants rises up to do their bidding at, what seems like no cost to themselves. It's a wonder that there are not more who are corrupted by this chance at power.

Luckily, there are those who rise up to combat this power. While overwhelmed of the battlefield, they have one thing that the necromancers don't: clear judgment. Instead of battling with their enemy on his terms, they stay in the shadows, observing their actions, rituals, and incantations, and striking where and when they are weakest. Through this strategy, the necromancers' power was slowly learned, and techniques to counter their dark sorceries were created. To preserve this knowledge for future generations, they put this knowledge onto this scroll. Made with a secret process using tree fibers, the scroll's contents are protected from the ignorant, foolish, and those easily corruptible by being extremely brittle. Unless great care is taken to protect the scroll, it will break apart into unreadable pieces, ensuring its contents stay hidden from the untrustworthy.

Recovery

After years of lying dormant, an adventurer by the name of Cherry located this item and quickly sold it to the noble Olaf.
