Those who follow the path of the hero are a singular breed. They are often found in the thickest part of the line in any battle. I have even heard some of them deliberately wear lighter armour than is usual to show both the enemy and their comrades that they do not fear death. A singular breed, indeed.

Some say that they simply flirt with death and crave the rush of exhilaration when it fails to take them. But they are most certainly paragons of courage. Almost all of them I have known have been good men and women.

As we retire to sleep this night, spare a thought for Sir Adair and wish that his god walks with him in his last journey home.
