Vore
City Description
Vore is a moderately sized city nestled in between the mountains of Jedinchel and Qual. The townslands of Yipinalke to the south contain the main routes for travel and trade to and from the city with the rural region of Yermon securing its river flank. Despite Vore’s close proximity to Lake Salaman due south the city's climate is still dominated by the winds of the northern tundra.
Considering its location Vore is an excellent trading hub seeing goods from the port city of Fronepu making their way inland to cities such as Unger and Vozzessdor. Even the stronghold of Vatrona relies on supplies such as iron ore from the mines of Vore to supply its forges of war.
Manufacturing and trade dominate the modest economy of Vore as many raw materials arrive within the city to be processed into goods such as weapons, armor, furniture and hardly cold weather clothing. As a result of crystal clear mountain streams flowing through the city it also hosts several prominent breweries and distilleries.
Nestled in between the resource rich mountains, mining is carried out on a sizable scale within Vore. Large amounts of iron ore and small amounts of copper ore are smelted into commodities or traded through its gates on a weekly basis during the summer months.
The people of Vore are a study group of northmen, surviving the harsh cold winter snows that blow down from the tall mountain peaks. Beer is a favored drink during the warmer periods with spirits consumed in steady supply during the slow winter months. Always be careful what you say around residents of Vore for the ample supply of steel and booze make them prone to outbursts of temper.
Geography
The city is surrounded by mountains by three sides except the South. It is renowned for massive cave networks built thousand years ago. The city is well blended into the landscape. Buildings matches the colour of the rocks and there are hardly any tall buildings.
Demographics
Vore was once a prosper city with a population of 11000. However during the Second Undead Invasion many were killed if not fled. After the liberation by Old Grehk, Vore is back under human control and is slowly recovering. Now Vore is estimated to have a population is around 1400 and steadily increasing in a rate of 1.3%.
Economy
Vore's is a renowned mining town. As iron ore is difficult to be transported there are significant iron works operating in the city. The Voreian Sword is a warrior's favourite.
The springs from the mountains also produce high quality mineral water and is ideal for producing beer and many different ales.
Culture
Due to the cold temperature drinking is very popular in Vore.
