Venas is a Badlands region on the southern island, on the western edge of Kalmar Bay. This region has a sea route to the Perdan Mines in Perdan.

History

Its leader was Baron Waylander for some time. Upon an early period of reformation in the old realm of the Kalmar Islands, the region was given to Margit sometime before 1006-05-05. Its history has been lost for some time, but was reclaimed by Perdan early in 1020-06, and given to Ser Philip Marak

Government

Ruled by Baron Philip Marak of Perdan.

Geography

  • Valley of the Red Gods - Named after the red-tinted pillar-like rock formations that dot the landscape and the ancient ruins that speak to ancient religions worshipped before the rise of the islands from the depths.
  • The Anvil - The predominant feature of the region, this 200 foot coastal headland presents one of the most notorious navigational hazards of the bay between Venas and Perdan Mines. Situated in the side of the cliffs were the settlement of Hadid's Anvil.

Economy

Demography

Reduced to a wasteland by abandonment and forced migration to the mainland of Perdan, the population is currently very small, composed of intrepid colonists in the face of a larger push for regional colonisation.

Settlements

  • Hadid's Anvil - The ruins of a cliffside fishing village. Once the thriving seat of power in the region, it has been reduced to ruins by decades of abandonment.
