History
The Sable Shields were founded in the days after the Battle of Brive at the request of the newly knighted Rogos V'Orlan. Many of the original members were veterans of that very same conflict, a full score of them having been members of the Opal Griffons before the mercenary company dissolved after the Battle of Brive.
The Sable Shields hold many of the same traditions as the Opal Griffons, including propagation of the traditions of the Sanctus Acies.
The majority of the Sable Shields were killed in Brive en route to Perdan, and the unit was disbanded, its colours hung on the walls of the V'Orlan Estate.
