Trader's Guild Anyone

Message to all traders of Atamara: Anyone want to form a traders guild on Atmara? I am not myself a region lord so I'm looking for someone to build it. I can partially fund it. This is a message I sent to my fellow Taran traders however none seemed to comment on my idea:

Message sent to everyone in message group Merchant's Hall (Trader's) (9 recipients) Fellow traders,

We should find something to put our collective wealth towards. Since no one in the army seems to need anything and no region lords are requesting any finacial support I suggest we save our money for establishing a guild.

What kind of guild? A trading one of course. We could advertise for traders in other realms to join and then we could get trading news from all over the continent. We would ask everyone to post the info they gain from talking with the local merchants and we could also allow bankers to post whether their realms are selling food or not. It would also be easier to use the the trader to trader market which I have never seen used once in all my travels. With all of this information we will no longer be in the dark like we are now and getting into trouble by trading on the black market.

Establishing a guild could be a really powerful way to increase our trading capabilities which in turn means more money for our great realm of Tara. All we need to do is to scrounge up enough money to make a guild and convince a region lord to let us build it there in his domain. I can donate 100 gold right off the bat.

What do you guys think?

Rojo (Imperial Knight)

The guild could provide the following services:

- ability for traders to know who is buying and who is selling all over the continent by posting talks with the local merchants and Bankers posting whether their realm is open for buisness

- protection for members against infiltrators attacks (i.e. an infiltrator attacks a guild member and some of the guild funds go towards putting a bounty on his heads)

- ability for bankers to hire traders to help specific realms who are in need of food

- starving regions can be quickly fed and people's lives saved due to increased communication

- leaders and region lords can use it to fund their projects (such as tourneys, wars, etc.) by taking out loans and the guild can profit by making money off the interest they generate

- coordination of buying food off of black markets to starve a target realm

- teaching people new to the proffesion how to trade effectively and ethically

Any other ideas would be great and if any one is interested in creating such a guild please respond to me. I would really like to get this off the ground for the good of traders everywhere.

Rebel thingnys

I think it's just plain cheap BS, and goes against the spirit of the game. Rebellion, for the right reasons, I can condone. Rebelling, to steal land from the realm that gave you a share of it's taxes, use it's services, and perhaps advance, is, as stated above, just plain cheap BS. If you are gonna steal land from people, do it from enemies, not those who have protected, housed, and payed you. -Chénier 04:13, 9 December 2006 (CET)
