This is the "default option" set up by the governments it appears, though you can always change it of course. In my case, my legal English name is "Lee Po-Hsun". But I will ask all English speakers to call me "Gias Kay Lee". The point is, you have to give yourself a true English name, after you got the "spirit" of that language, not just a romanization of your original name.
