Demolition Workshop

All the other buildings have a cost. Why did you remove the one just for the Demolition Workshop? I realize what you're saying, but we need some way to know relative costs. With more data we can get that. By removing it now, we'll never get there. -- Corwyn 21:37, 10 November 2010 (CET)

IRC

Most realms start with 3 regions, Madina with 2. I know quit a few more very interesting things too, but I wouldn't want to spoil everyone's surprise. Well, that is, anyone who'se not on IRC. ;)

How do you know, and what else do you know? I'd like to know so I can see if there are any leaks I have to fix in order to not spoil people's fun in discovering the island. --Tom 23:04, 23 August 2007 (CEST)

I'm not on IRC often. You can mail me - tom@battlemaster.org --Tom 08:58, 24 August 2007 (CEST)

It's you!

I never knew your wiki/family name, just your IRC name. But now I do! =P --V2Blast 20:49, 3 November 2007 (CET)

Dejavu? -Chénier 15:28, 4 November 2007 (CET)

You!

Wasn't hard to find you, what with that name. I'm back in UD! --V2Blast T•P!•C 19:23, 16 April 2007 (BST)

Ah, yes, there. :P -Chénier 00:14, 5 November 2007 (CET)

Johnstons?

Are you a Johnston then? Oh, and happy New Year! -Baatarsaikhan 08:25, 1 January 2008 (CET)

In other news, I see the tag UD...UrbanDead, perchance? -Baatarsaikhan 09:54, 1 January 2008 (CET)
Ah, I would be a Johnston out of Canada, just recently looking into my roots (which aren't looking too good - not the Johnston aspect, more of something about my great-grandfather objecting to going into the clergy as he was a third son and the objection resulted in a none-to-polite disowning...ah, well). As for UrbanDead, I too played. My tag was Gur'mrgle, Ridleybank Ward Boss for the RRF under Papa P. It really does suck up time once you get into the culture of it, doesn't it? -Baatarsaikhan 21:11, 1 January 2008 (CET)
Well, there's the web page I pointed at (Clan Johnston/e) if you're looking to start some history research. I understand there will be a NA get-together in Seattle sometime in August or October, during the Scottish games. I know that my Dad's relations are meeting during roughly the same time span for a family reunion. There are options, you see. :) -Baatarsaikhan 15:30, 2 January 2008 (CET)
Just a head's up. A chunk of the American grouping for Johnston is getting together in Streator, Ill. in late September. If you want more info, drop me a line on my talk page and I'll do more family digging. - Baatarsaikhan 00:03, 8 August 2008 (CEST)

AoW

Hey could you do me a big favor, and create the largest snow city possible and upload it? ;) Thanks :D Ceorl 19:11, 21 May 2008 (CEST)

Cohortes

Me neither, Google FTW :P -Capet 13:21, 31 August 2008 (CEST)

Ex aequor opulentia or A fluctibus opes?

semantic web

I'd be happier if you would hold back with adding all those properties until we have a few basics defined. Otherwise you have to change half of them around later on and the rest conflicts with stuff that got assigned a different meaning. Just a day or two, please? --Tom 08:01, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Republic of Fwuvoghor

This page is for the Republic, not for your propaganda, or for your family history. Let its contents be decided by those who were actually in the republic in that time. Ceorl 10:45, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the info on the Wealth Tax!

Glad to have that settled once and for all :) -- Corwyn 02:56, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the solid advice

I merged the Shock Troops and Damage Sinks pages into the new Unit Roles page and setup redirects for the old pages as I do not seem to have the delete permission. Thanks for the useful editing advice. --Von neumann 15:43, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Rising to Lordship

The reason I added the record was because I had seen a similar record in the adventurer section. "fastest rise to nobility". I think it could be just as easily said that that title record could be gamed. It doesn't mean it will be, and limitations could easily be placed upon it.

Perhaps making it need to be an election and not appointment, (as appointments are easier to be gamed) than others. Idk, just some thoughts.

What do you think is the fastest? (Not including when the game first began, or when an island first began) Silverfire 22:56, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Was that case one in which your character was only 10 days old though? I'm not saying just joining a realm and being made lord in 10 days, which is somewhat easier. Although, there are ways to game it which make it a bit unreal as you say. Anyway, its fine if its not added, it was just an idea of mine. Silverfire 05:43, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
I think I'll just leave this matter to rest then. Silverfire 03:02, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Linking and Writing

Can you make sure there are links or pieces written for the following pages?

--Ethan Lee Vita (Talk), Editor and Community Manager 01:41, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Awesome, I thought I had lost some of that stuff. Will get to it... soon-ish. -Chénier 06:24, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Wiki is IC

The wiki, especially newspapers, are IC elements. Please do not clear information that is part of the social interaction amongst nobility and adds flavour to the game. --Ethan Lee Vita (Talk), Editor and Community Manager 00:41, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Consider the talk page the section for Letters to the Editor. --Ethan Lee Vita (Talk), Editor and Community Manager 01:15, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
Sure, you can censor the letters. Though if you have to do it again, it might be nice to add an IC note about the action. Regarding your link to a wikipedia policy, BM wiki does not operate by wiki policies so it was a rather pointless link. --Ethan Lee Vita (Talk), Editor and Community Manager 14:20, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Riombaran Herald

In the future, please abstain from sending any letters concerning your newspaper The Glory of Enweil to the Riombaran Herald, and placing it wherever you see fit. I will not delete the ones you've already pasted to the Herald, but any attempts like that will be deleted in the future, as I am not really interested to gather comments from other newspapers in the Riombaran Herald. Your stuff should be kept in your own garden. --Gryphon 13:29, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Do with it as you see fit. Consider The Glory of Enweil indiscriminately just forwarding all the foreign letters they get to the Riombaran Herald, if not only out of spite to spam you with with they consider spam. If the Herald doesn't want it either, be my guest to delete them, the staff of the Glory of Enweil doesn't care for them if they sent it to you. -Chénier 13:32, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
Look, I am not asking for any IC explanation you may give about why those letters are being sent to the Herald, I am asking you as a player to stop meddling with newspapers you have absolutely nothing to do with. If you don't want the letters addressed to your newspaper and you despise them, then please just delete them or create a new page or w/e for them, but don't send them to the Riombaran Herald anymore. --Gryphon 13:39, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
I understand, and won't do it again. Just saying. -Chénier 14:02, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. --Gryphon 14:06, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Edit Wars

Stop with the edit wars. I have locked both of those pages for 2 weeks. Either learn to get along with the other users, and compromise on the content of the pages, or I'll lock both of your accounts for a while so you can cool off. No one owns a shared page, and no one has the right to be the sole determiner of what goes on it. If you wish to have your own private history of what happened, put it on your talk page, and link to it. The public, shared page is a cooperative account. --Indirik (talk), Editor (talk) 14:37, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

I'm really not all that concerned about who is doing what, and who is adding or removing. It takes two people to continually add and revert pages. So, rather than edit the pages back and forth for the next year, iron out your differences and come to a conclusion using the Talk pages. That's what they're for. Even if the main page displays something you don't like for a few days, that's much better than a revert war. I'm sure that the two of you can come up with an equitable solution. Also, keep in mind that the status of the page is not specifically reserved for whoever was there last, or the longest, etc. Anyone can edit that page and contribute to it. Even if they are adding things you don't like. If they were in the realm, then they have a stake in the content of the page. It is perfectly acceptable for there to be either two pages, with parallel links to both, or two accounts on the same page. And no, I really don't know or care, at this point, who was doing the adding, and who was doing the deleting. Nor does it matter. Iron out your differences on the Talk page, then edit the main page with the final compromise. --Indirik (talk), Editor (talk) 01:22, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Which version appears on the page at this moment is not important. The point of locking the main page is that the interested parties can hash out the desired cooperative version on the Talk page. Then when that's done, it can be copied over to the main page. If you didn't get that hint before, then I'll help it along by starting the discussion myself on the Talk page. --Indirik (talk), Editor (talk) 14:41, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I saw the discussion. We're going to try again, maybe in a moderated fashion with a neutral third party helping out. I would like to get this taken care of, in a manner that is acceptable to both parties. To help the process, I would appreciate your help by you submitting your idea for how it should be handled. If we still can't get it ironed out like adults, then I'll make the page read however I want it to read, and leave it locked for the next six months or so. Remember: Edit wars are unacceptable, and it takes two parties to have an edit war. So regardless of which side of the edit war you're on, you're wrong. So, please, help me figure out how to resolve it in a way that both sides can live with it. --Indirik (talk), Editor (talk) 20:33, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Battle Records

I realize. I plan on removing all the minor battles currently listed as the character gains more experience and has participated in a few REAL battles. I also realized that creating a new page for every battle the character gets in would be a bit excessive!

Please be careful with commenting

Please be a bit more careful when entering comments on talk pages. This is the second time I have seen where you have added comments to a talk page and completely wiped out other people's entries. (This latest incident was on Talk:Beluaterra/Fifth Age.) --Indirik (talk), Editor (talk) 18:39, 22 February 2011 (CET)
