Go ahead and observe, but your character has NO ROLEPLAY REASON WHATSOEVER to use this, unless he or she happens to be in the same region as Reilwin and sneaks into his tent to look through his papers. Even so, the information may still be inaccurate--these articles are left here, after all, because they still have to be edited. They will probably change A LOT before being placed in the paper. The main purpose of this page is to keep the articles I'm working on here until they're in a form ready to be published.

I placed your template in "nowiki" tags to deactivate. Please do not use semantic templates outside of the outside of their intended purpose. If you practice with one somewhere, make sure you remove it as soon as you are done. --[[User:Indirik|Indirik]] 15:58, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

A combined Falasan/Ashlantean force attempted to reclaim Belegmon yesterday, with disastrous results. In a public address to the realm, High Marshal Yavuz reported on the events which led to the defeat. Taking responsibility for the points which caused that loss, in particular, his perceived inability to inspire enough Falasani troop leaders to follow orders, he tendered his resignation and apologized for the casualties suffered by those knights who did follow his orders.

Soon afterwards, a outsurge of support was raised by many nobles to encourage Lord Yavuz to remain at his post. In the words of Edwardo, a Falasani noble:

:I call, therefore, upon all of our realm mates, to join me in declaring confidence, and asking general Yavuz to reconsider his resignation. He did all that was possible to ensure success, and it was our best chance in the circumstances. His willingness to assume full responsibility only proves that he is well suited for this leadership position.

Perhaps Lord Yavuz will experience a change of mind. In the meanwhile, nobles in Barad Falas stand ready to repel any assaulting force.

title =Miscommunications Results in Treaty Modifications|

article = March 6th, 2007

Taran authorities explained the presence of Taran troops attacking Galadia, in violation of the cease-fire treaty signed some time ago, as a mistake. Apparently, the situation occurred when Eston's High Marshal ordered an attack into Galadia. Although Tara's own general attempted to rescind those orders as soon as he was informed of them, several nobles had already travelled to far for the messengers to reach them in time.

As a result of this near-breach in the treaty, Taran troops have been withdraw from Eston, and Tara has agreed to an additional delay of one week in the transfer of Chagasu.

title =Redspan Invades the Ash Sea Islands|

article = March 5th, 2007

-----

Nobles throughout Falasan were surprised today as news reached them of Redspan's sudden declaration of war on the Ash Sea Islands. We at the Falasan Inquirer lived up to its name, as inquiries were sent to the realms involved as to the events which led up to the present situation.

Redspan affirms that it has gone to war in order to prevent any more of its priests from being harmed by followers of Magna Serpaensism, who have been declared followers of "the Rosegarden Guy". To achieve this goal, Redspan has determined to drive out all followers of Magna Serpaensism from Redspaniard lands and to claim the region of Rogeshore as a buffer zone. In the words of King Tony of Redspan:

:We will know when Rosegarden guy is out of our lands by the mere fact that he has no followers left within our borders. Once that is done, plus the buffer zone of Rogeshore in our possession then the war will end. Although ASI will more than likly carry ont he war until Rogeshore is in their possession.

The Ash Sea Islands have proclaimed their outrage over the manner in which Redspan attacked, invading Ashlantean lands before formally declaring war.

title =Worship or Die!|

article = March 5th, 2007

-----

Redspan's declaration of war on the Ash Sea Islands seems as senseless as it is childish. Redspan claims to be attacking in retaliation for the sufferances of the priests of Da Goat...which occurred on Redspaniard lands, at the hands of their very peasants!

That the nobles of Redspan would not let the priests of Da One be treated so is laudable, especially when those priests were humiliated by simple peasants...but the target of their outrage is entirely questionable. Why blame the Ash Sea Islands, and by extension Magna Serpaensism, when the true perpetrators are found on their own lands? What pride, to accuse all others before oneself. There is little to support the idea that priests of the serpent were behind those commoner uprisings, and many rumours circulate as to the attempts to forcibly convert commoners to Da Way.

The very suddenness of this outbreak of war appears dishonourable. King Malice of the Ash Sea Islands asserts that there had been no prior discussion as to Redspan's dissatisfaction with the extent of the penetration of Magnus Serpaensism into Redspan:

:This declaration of war also is the first I have heard of RedSpaniard disastisfaction with a peaceful coexistence with Magna Serpænsism

Following up with Redspan's sudden attack without even formally proclaiming itself in a state of war with Redspan, this coincidence of events becomes very suspicious indeed.

Furthermore, Redspan has stated that it will be unwilling to end the war until all religions other than those which follow Da Way have been driven out of Redspan, and it has taken Rogeshore as a buffer zone. Redspan begins to seem less and less of an idyllic realm of goatdom, and more a realm of enforced hairiness.

title =Eston Sent Fleeing!|

article = March 2th, 2007

-----

Eston attacked Menedor earlier today, and were repulsed with heavy casualties to their side. One wonders at their supreme overconfidence in sending such a smaller force heavy with cavalry units. Estonite hopes to overawe the defenders with horsed popinjays fell into ruins as their steeds cantered back and forth alongside the walls of Menedor, as well as the lives of their men. Although Menedor's defenders were but scratched, Reilwin was unable to comment on these events as he accidently leaped into an arrow during the fighting and is currently in the care of the healers.

Reports came tonight of the sudden disappearance of the 'Duke' Torin. Whether in a bid for sympathy or simply an exclamation of despair at his desperate situation, the traitor left behind a note by his bedside, stating that he had "left for a better world." Although no traces of violence could be discovered, his body was nowhere to be found.

title =Squeeing Expedition Results in Manhunt|

article = February 25th, 2007

-----

King Tank's mysterious disappearance was finally brought to light yesterday, as the Falasan Inquirer 'interviewed' his servants (note to editor-please don't forget to add the 24 silver 'travel expenses' to the books). As personally stated by one of the above, who has declined to be named for fear of reprisals: "Wael, m'lord, ah'd last seen 'im drinkin' an' carousin' about wit his soldiers, when ah saw 'im pull out these loong wooden sticks! 'E tied 'em to 'is horse and rode off wit a bunch of 'is men, shoutin' somting about chkees or squees."

As such, he is presumed to have ridden off from Barad Gardor onto the slopes of Anfalas. A peasant woodcutter witnessed all of the activities, and reported "Now, twas a sight odder 'n the day my great-great-great-grand-papa was walking by a lake and got attacked by a chicken." Apparently, King Tank was on a steep slope and was busily attaching some sort of wooden sticks to his feet. The woodcutter continued on to say that he saw Tank zip down the slope, singing "Oh Aren't You My Darling Lassie" as he flew off a cliff.

Further events can only be theorized, as no witnesses were present nor have any of Tank's men commented on the issue. However, it can be presumed that they commenced a thorough search for him (or his body) immediately. It is quite odd though, that they did not report his disappearance until after provisions began for a royal election due to King Tank's vanishment. At that point, a hunt began in earnest for him (or his body), although the preparations for the election continued.

Lord Yavuz was proposed by many, although he willingly stepped to the side when others nominated Gucky, former High Marshal of Falasan. The elections proceeded, and Gucky was elected, although the coronation ceremonies were interrupted just as the crown was settled on King Gucky's head by a messenger who announced that Tank had been found.

Estonite forces savagely crushed all resistance and finally succeeded in removing all loyal civil servants from Belegmon and Nazia. Their task was immensely aided by the secession, which shook the faith of the populace in the stability of the realm. However, Falasan's army gathers to liberate the conquered regions. The Estonites may hold them for now for now, but Falasan will reclaim them in the end. After all, he who laughs last, laughs best.

title = Coward abandons Falasan|

article =February 21th, 2007

-----

Falasanian nobility was much improved after the fool, Torin Capashin, left its ranks. After expansively proclaiming his boundless love for his people, he went on to outline his grandiose plan to save them from the ravages of the coming war and destruction from Eston...in spite of the fact that Tucha is the southernmost city and the furthest from Eston.

Torin's secession was the most foolish action he could have done to keep his people safe. Not only has he weakened Falasan, and hence Falasan's ability to resist the Estonite hordes, he has provided several tantalizing regions which other realms unfriendly to Falasan may find too tempting to resist. As such, his own actions will bring the war and desolation he has so worked so desperately to prevent.

Furthermore, he does not appear to have given any thought to accumulating allies in his plan for Tucha's independence. Although his actions were well-intentioned, his actual plan is ineptedly clumsy. Any Falasani noble would have disapproved of his secession on general principles, but the very manner in which he bungled it!

And bungled it he did. Rumours swept the land of his intentions well before his actions, although the Falasani army was unable to act with the Estonite forces threatening the border. Gaffe after gaffe continued, as his tyrannic rule was overthrown by his own co-plotters.

In any case, Torin can be thought of as naught else but a fool and a coward. How else can one consider the actions of one who surrenders before the enemy has appeared and despite the relative safety of his lands?

title =Traitor Exposed!|

article =February 21th, 2007

-----

A cowardly double-crosser finally exposed his true colours as Estonite and Darkan forces approached Falasan's borders. Perfectly timed to coincide with the invasion of Falasan, Torin has finally shown his true allegiance to Eston.

His actions are no surprise, as he has obviously been corrupted by his association with Estonites and cannot help but share in their deceitful nature and guileful ways. In spite of their general's promises not to attack Falasan if the same behaviour was observed by Falasan, Eston once more displayed its complete lack of honour as it invaded Belegmon without warning for the second time. Obviously aware of their inferiority in the face of Falasan's might, Eston has hired Darka to supplement their paltry forces.

At least one can savor the fact that Torin will not have long to enjoy his newfound independence. Tara's grasping, avaricous hands will undoubtedly reach out to seize his lands; they can always claim that Capashinia's independence voids any restraint that may have compelled them from annexing those regions.

title = Concession to Taran Demands|

article =February 16th, 2007

-----

Today, King Tank announced a new treaty, accepting most Taran demands. This, in spite of the weakness imposed on Tara and the Cagilan Empire by the monster invasion. This, in spite of the continued provocation by Taran infiltrators. This, in spite of the great temptation posed by Tara's great vulnerability...and the possibility that they may become another Norland.

(For the full text of the message see [[Falasan Inquirer/February/reference|page 13]].)

Although sages and spies from every realm have noted the immense reduction in the strength of the Cagilan Empire, Tara's main supporter in its demands, Falasan withheld itself from retaliating at Tara's postponed takeovers. An unspoken cease-fire was held, pending the hoped-for (and largely achieved) destruction of the beasts and zombies roaming Atamara.

Disdaining the courtesy shown by Falasan's nobles in their restraint, Taran infiltrators continued to provoke Falasan for the past few weeks, as they continued to assault troop leaders in spite of the unspoken cease-fire. One has to wonder at their mental acuity, as the targets they chose were far from the front, and those assassins were quickly captured before they could return to Taran lands.

In this opinion of this reporter, there is little doubt that another Minas Ithil will be enacted.

title =Falasan Proposes Peace|

article =February 16th, 2007

-----

A treaty proposal for a lasting peace between Falasan and Tara was drafted and sent today by King Tank. This event hopefully signals the approach of a new age of peace and tranquility between these two former enemies. The transfer of these regions will result in a significant food deficit in Falasan, and Tara has agreed to allow trade to flow unimpeded to make up for this lack.

article =February 4th, 2007

If indeed accusations are to be pointed at specific realms as to the source of these creatures, then indeed, let us do so. That beasts are present, there is no doubt, and that they are ravaging the countryside of only certain realms, again there is no doubt. The question still remains...why are they doing this? It has long been known that monsters and the living dead are attracted to regions infested with evil and strife. I can only conclude that this must be the state of those realms so afflicted. Therefore, the scourge that wracks them must have been brought upon them by themselves--through their own greed, envy, faithlessness and lack of honour. How else can this explain how the righteous have come through unscathed? The groups which have been frantically leaping about to slay monsters are simply striking at the symptoms, and not at the sickness within. So long as those lands are filled with corruption, there will be no rest for the weary. I am glad that the people of Chagasu recognized the vile nature of their oppressors and overthrew them before the monsters came to visit them.
