The Word

The origins of The Word lie in the deserts of Atamara. It was previously a pagan religion practiced by a small tribe around Axzaloc, but is now spreading through the desert. It is common practice among them to name children after gods.

Gods

There are thousands of Gods, but they are arranged in a heirarchy. At the top are the High Gods or Habha. They are Xanio (ZAH-ni-o), Kaora(KAY-o-ra), and Fuarchostn (fwar-SHOS-ten). They are the God of End, The Goddess of Beginning, and the Entity of Time respectively. The next order are the Great Gods or Habztaninaasktesaiyn. They are Scha (SHAW), Wentarkl (when-TAR-kil), Torsaan (tor-SAAN), Anstorkoc (ans-TOOR-kos), and Esaneon (es-A-neon). They are the Goddess of Good/Happiness, the God of Evil/Sadness, Entity of Balance, Entity of the Forgotten, and the Entity of the Elements respectively. Karibash (kar-i-BASH) is the most prominent of the lesser gods as he is the God of War.

Scha, Torsaan and Wentarkl

There is difficulty describing these three gods. When they enter the afterlife Scha is the Goddess who rules those who serve, those who sacrafice, the people who suffer in any way. Wentarkl rules those who lived in happiness, but not necessarily gluttony and sin, though he does rule those people as well. In the afterlife, debts are repaid. Those who lived in servitude and strife enter the Kingdom of Scha and live in happiness until their debts are repaid. Those who lived in happiness enter the Kingdom of Wentarkl where they live in pain and suffering until their debts are repaid. Those who lived in balance can await the second coming in Torsaan's kingdom, or travel.

Beliefs

The Word states that you have one chance at life, then you repay debts and await the second coming when the world is begun anew. They believe that because good is the abscence of evil and evil is the abscence of good, there must be ane effort to keep the two as balanced as possible. Everything needs to be balanced, such as war and peace. An imbalance angers the gods, as it disrupts the heirarchy, giving more power to certain gods.
