Avamar Assaulted

Today in Avamar a great battle has taken part. The combined forces of Sirion, Fontan, and Old Rancangu assaulted Avamar. There was a total of 116 attackers (2448 Inf, 542 MI, 1124 Arch, 291 Cav, 123 SF). The defending force contained 91 defenders (1307 Inf, 890 Arch, 24 Cav). The attackers Combat Strength was 51344. The defenders had 24620 Combat Strength. The Battle Preperations were as following: The region owner Avamar and their allies defend. The Sirion troops attack because they are at war with Oligarch. The Fontan troops attack because they are at war with Oligarch. The Old Rancagua troops attack because they are at war with Oligarch.

It is quite windy and the archers will have to aim very carefully. The defenders have the benefit of fortified positions (level 5). Quanto, Marshal of the army of Fontan takes command of the attacker forces. The attacker are set up in none formation. Sir Amraedil, Marshal of the army of Avamar takes command of the defender forces. The defender are set up in none formation

At first the Mixed Infantry units of the armies moved up and fired on avamar's men. The infantry were stuck on the front line and could not move foward to the walls due to overcrowding. After a long skirmish on the 7th turn the infantry advanced 1 line. 50 seige engines were at the wall and the allies struggled to get a hold on the wall. Most of the attackers were thrown down from the walls. Many units were thrown off the walls up to 8 times. They struggled to push the infantry back into the city. The Archers were then assaulted by the large force and it wasn't long until the battle was over. It lasted 5 hours and The battle does some damage to the local infrastructure. Production falls 11 %.The battle has heavily damaged the fortifications, and reduced them to Stronghold (4)

Almost 1000 Avamarians and Oligiarhians remain in Avamar and more battles are to be expected. This has been one of the biggest battles in the History of the Game. Avamar is to be returned to Sirion and the civil war will be over.
