A desperate attempt to stop our liberation of Tichi failed today as Ash Sea Island Troops marched to their doom. Originating from mountainous Jauchu, ASI had both terrain and Infiltrators to contend with during their long, long slog. As such, only half of their force arrived and thus decimated by Tara who outnumbered and outclassed them 2-1.

A coordinated counterattack by Falasan and Minas Ithil has succeeded in taking Cori and Picnu away from us. With our own allies unavailable and monsters/Norland Raiders n the rear, we have been unable to muster enough to resist.

Following ASI's most recent wildly successful raids into Jagla and Barnlure, the combined Armies of Darka, Tara, Carelia, Talerium and Eston assembled in Byblack, Tichi and Rogeshore to face the potential 26,000 CS ASI Horde massed in Barnlure and Ser'quia.

However, the anticipated titanic struggle between equal forces never materialized as ASI retreated infront of our advancing troops. All the Armies found was a pathetic 6,000 CS army of stragglers to drunk to follow orders. Still, this paves the way for the TO of Barnlure by Carelia.

Tara and her allies have made moderate gains in our prosecution of this war. News has arrived that the region of Tichi has just been freed by our troops. This comes to three regions the Ash Sea Islands lost in as many weeks of steady attrition. We expect more victories in the days to come as our allies return from refit.

There has been a large resurgence of undead and monster activity in Carelia, the Cagilan Empire, Darka and Tara. These evil creatures are of such size and strength that normal militia units are incapable of stopping them. Thus, it is with reluctance that each realm must dispatch a task force for disposal.

However, all is not roses for us. Staging from their city of Ser'quia, ASI has conducted a series of raids that caused moderate to heavy damage against us. The most recent battle occurred in Barnlure which decimated a 7,000 CS Carelian force. Numerous smaller units were also hit before that. Reports indicate that this same strategy is being repeated with equal success in the south. However, once their cities have been taken we expect all resistance to collapse and the war to end.

As anyone can see in the map, we are doing very well. There is almost no resistance now when our army liberates Rabbit regions. Peasants welcome Tara with open arms. Both Barad Falas and Tucha are surrounded, there people starving while their Lords flee. As I write this, I look out my window and witness the massive army gathering for the siege of Barad Falas. Once that persecuted city is free, Falasan will be broken.

One of the early questions in this war has always been the early warning the Ash Sea Islands received during the massing of our armies at their border. We have later learned that a traitor from Suville leaked the liberation plans to our enemies, prolonging the war and suffering of ASI.

We have some concerns over the safety and security of our own Eastern border and so are seeking to rectify that. Given our long and intertwined history, as well as what we believe to be a general feeling of distrust and subtle aggression that we have seen in their dealings and read in their publications, we have genuine concerns that Falasan would use this opportunity to strike at us.
+
Clearly, Sir Damian Bedwyr, Duke of Stoneville can be none other than the traitor in question. HE made ASI suffer and, indeed, the argument can be made that the Falasan War is his fault as well.

Falasan has a large military machine at its disposal, as do we, and we are using this opportunity to resolve a tense situation before it can ignite into a war which could engulf all of Atamarra. We do not do this lightly, nor do we do this merely as a way to assuage our egos or pride. We are not fools or warmongers.
+
The Tara Times will seek to confirm this speculation and get back to you.

For those of you out there who are alarmed by this, I share your concern. After all, war is not something that is lightly engaged or considered, It is only after extensive deliberations by our Senate and realm council that we have felt that this path was our only remaining option. But please know this, the Cagilan Empire harbors no aggressive intentions towards any of the other realms of Atamarra. We are not seeking a war of absolute domination and dominion. We are moving against this one opponent and this one opponent only.

After 5 days of a brutal takeover, the citizens of Aja have finally been freed of their oppressors. Women are dancing naked in the streets as news of their freedom spread. The intolerance, fanaticism and rigidity of the Serpent religion have always bred low-level resentment among ASI's outlying regions, making them open to more modern faiths. Now, they are free to embrace the beliefs Tara makes available to them. This unprecedented liberty has already increased the loyalty of half the population and promoted Tara to the surrounding regions. Aja is indeed grateful to have us here.

The pressures of war have forced all available staff to the frontlines, abandoning their journalism duties for the greater good. As the tide of war turns our way, we have now found the time to continue our work here at the paper.

Administrators and Government Officials are fanning out and spreading order as they go. The presence of several The Order Priests are assisting them. Still, we expect several days before control is fully ours.
