Rebellion in Abington

It has been brought to our attention that Ash'rily is NOT the capital of the Ash Sea Islands. The correct capital is Ser'quia. We apologize for our error.

A rebellion is breaking out in Abington. Earlier today, Odoaker has called for an uprising against the current government. Details are still sketchy.

Claiming that the current King of Abington, Gauihu, is a madman Odoaker a knight of the region of Narville has risen up against the current government. Recent rumors however claim that the rebellion is collapsing as quickly as it begun due to many Abi nobles failing to support the inexperienced Odoaker. However, the self proclaimed Leader of the Abington Liberation Movement says he will continue his fight to depose Gauihu from the throne.

Magnus the Mighty, Duke of Wayburg, seceded from Abington today. Forming the realm of Caergoth, it is comprised of the regions of Chasnoff, Matakonis, Monagle and Swanfolk with the City of Wayburg as its capital. This is the second Duke to rebel and reports are coming in of other cities threatening to do likewise. Aware of his precarious position, the new King of Caergoth has opened negotiations with Abington's enemies... two armies of which are currently occupying Wayburg. Should he form an alliance with his former foes, Caergoth would stand a far better chance of survival than the isolated, just destroyed realm of Aquilane.

After a lengthy rest from the life of politics and war, I have now returned to the Taran army and the Tara Times. Once again I will take up the pen and the sword to both physically destroy and verbally humiliate the beastly goat lovers and their allies. However, with Stargard's fall emminent at the hands of Taran troops and RS reduced to only four regions I am worried that maybe our enemies will go out with a whimper (or whatever sound a dying goat makes) before my sword has a chance to taste their blood.

Nevertheless I am overjoyed to see that Tara has grown exponentially since I have left. I also heartily congratulate Lister on his appointment as Dictator of Tara. I hope to write about more Taran victories in the near future.

We have just gotten word that a major assault has overrun Ash'rily, capital of the Ash Sea Islands. An estimated 30,000 CS Army of Caergoth/Carelia defeated ASI's 15,000 CS defenders in a titanic battle. Damage to both armies and the fortifications have been massive.

The long expected new Tax System has finally been implemented by the Gods. This development has generated no small amount of stress here in Tara as Nobles have begun arguing amongst themselves on monetary compensations. Some have even dared complain to the Military Council and even the Dictator Lister, himself, did not escape criticism. Spokesmen have stated that negotiations are ongoing and we should expect a solution in a matter of days.

There has been a large resurgence of undead and monster activity in Carelia, the Cagilan Empire, Darka and Tara. These evil creatures are of such size and strength that normal militia units are incapable of stopping them. Thus, it is with reluctance that each realm must dispatch a task force for disposal.

The people of Sullenport abandoned the Goat Realm a few days ago as poor management and body odor sapped the love they had for their Realm. This loss of this city, the second greatest in Atamara, guarantees the end of Redspan as a nation. Speculation is rife on which realm will takeover of their few remaining regions. Will another war erupt over the spoils?

As anyone can see in the map, we are doing very well. There is almost no resistance now when our army liberates Rabbit regions. Peasants welcome Tara with open arms. Both Barad Falas and Tucha are surrounded, there people starving while their Lords flee. As I write this, I look out my window and witness the massive army gathering for the siege of Barad Falas. Once that persecuted city is free, Falasan will be broken.

After suffering for so long in anarchy and chaos, Meldeen has finally been saved by our brave troops. The region became part of Tara today as its citizens welcomed their saviors with flowers and beer. As a sign of his unending generosity, Dictator Lister has decreed that soap and shampoo shall be freely distributed to the general population. Let hygiene rule this land forevermore!

War is a stressful business and some people just want the stress to end. Such was the case for the citizens of Riverholm and her adjacent regions.
+
One of the early questions in this war has always been the early warning the Ash Sea Islands received during the massing of our armies at their border. We have later learned that a traitor from Suville leaked the liberation plans to our enemies, prolonging the war and suffering of ASI.

Earlier today, the city of Riverholm along with the regions Wynford, Rustton, and Lanston seceded from Abington. Calling themselves Aquitaine, this new realm is not expected to survive long without assistance. Already, Abington has declared war and her Armies are expected to reclaim the lost lands soon.
+
Clearly, Sir Damian Bedwyr, Duke of Stoneville can be none other than the traitor in question. HE made ASI suffer and, indeed, the argument can be made that the Falasan War is his fault as well.

All is not lost for the rebels. The Ash Sea Islands, long enemies of Abington, have been reported to be acting funny. Will the Southern Alliance suffer the fate Tara endured long ago? The irony is incredible.
+
The Tara Times will seek to confirm this speculation and get back to you.

After almost a month of bitter struggle Byblack has not only been successfully taken by Taran forces, but she has accepted and agreeably entered under the steadfast rule of Taran law. Now fully supportive of Tara and The Order, the people of Byblack have renounced Da Way of Da Great Goat and have finally seen the light of cleanliness and proper and holy hygienic living.
+
I have just finished reviewing past issues of our brother journalists across the divide and I have come to a stunning article...

This success in Byblack is a testimony to how, with the proper planning, effort and commitment, all of the south could soon be free of the curse of Da Way. Though the work required is tremendous and tedious, by treating each step one at at a time, and tackling each with dedication and true belief, it will not be long before Tara and the allied forces have rid the south of this unholy disease.

Indeed. In a fine display of honesty, the most recent edition of the Falasan Newspaper freely admits that it was their ineptitude and foolishness that has caused all this mayhem. Following the massive damage inflicted in Atblane, the Allied Army pursued the Abington/Redspan survivors into Stargard, Redspan's capital. There, alongside the cowards who refused to march into Atblane, the remnants of the once mighty Army fought their hopeless battle. Many abandoned their walls in despair and charged the liberating Allied Army to their doom. Others bitterly opposed the inevitable from behind their palisade. Regardless, most were wounded or captured by the end of the day.

The bulk of Abington and Redspan's Army was destroyed in Atblane today as our enemies continued to resist their future. Attacking from Stargard, nearly 80% were slaughtered attempting to take our Atblane palisade with their clearly inferior numbers. Investigations after the battle reveal that many Redspaniards and Abingtonians never showed up at all. Afraid of the obvious moral, ethical and military superiority of our Allied Army, these deserters choose the better part of valor and left their comrades to their fate.

Elections have been scheduled and there is great excitement among the population on who will be voted upon the job. Whoever the winner shall be, he will certainly have large shoes to fill.
