Today, Achilles, Dictator of Tara learned that the alliance of Redspan, Carelia and Abington are seeking to strike at CE and Tara. In Gabriel's claims, it is in retaliation for CE preparing to wipe out DrachenwaldAchilles says he thinks that is an excuse, not a reason.

At this time, this reporter does not know exactly what will happen, but it appears that Carelia has had a large hand in planning the attack on Tara and CE. A message intercepted by Achilles was intended for Manaydur and Gabriel, but the scribe accidentally sent it to Achilles and Gabriel instead. The content of the message is copied below:

We have just gotten word that a major assault has overrun Ash'rily, capital of the Ash Sea Islands. An estimated 30,000 CS Army of Caergoth/Carelia defeated ASI's 15,000 CS defenders in a titanic battle. Damage to both armies and the fortifications have been massive.

What if RS starts this war with a skirmish with Tara and abby moves in a few turns behind that (or together from the start, but that way it doesn't look like Tara started it, anyway we'll see what we'll do about that). then you start TOing Jagla together. after that Carelia joins in and we go for ledunds after that we instantly move on towards Foda. with this blitzkrieg we can cripple Tara in no time. without foda ledunds and jagla they miss 5 RC's wich means they have very few recruits left. also they have no place to refit anymore. if we manage to take Foda we can take it somewhat slower, just choking Tara. RS and abby can refit after we TO Foda. after the refit we can take another few regions wich can be distributed among Carelia and RS (or given all to RS). then Tara is down.

Lord Achilles sent an immediate message to Gabriel and Aramil asking for an explination of what this message meant. Aramil, as expected, coward away from any response directly to Achilles. Instead, Redspan, Carelia and Abington have formed a Federation and as far as Tara is concerned, are moving forward with their plans to sneak attack Tara. Which, is of course, no secret now.

As anyone can see in the map, we are doing very well. There is almost no resistance now when our army liberates Rabbit regions. Peasants welcome Tara with open arms. Both Barad Falas and Tucha are surrounded, there people starving while their Lords flee. As I write this, I look out my window and witness the massive army gathering for the siege of Barad Falas. Once that persecuted city is free, Falasan will be broken.

Achilles of Tara recently lowered relations to Neutral with Carlia and Redspan. Immediately, both Aramil (Ruler of Carlia) and Halden (General of Carlia) replied to Achilles stating they didn't want to fight a war with Tara. When Achilles challenged the sincerity of their claims and told Halden that Aramil was a coward planning to stab his own ally in the back, Halden wrote an unappologetic note that was dripping with sarcasim and smugness.

One of the early questions in this war has always been the early warning the Ash Sea Islands received during the massing of our armies at their border. We have later learned that a traitor from Suville leaked the liberation plans to our enemies, prolonging the war and suffering of ASI.

Message from Halden to Achilles, Jan 28th, 2006

Clearly, Sir Damian Bedwyr, Duke of Stoneville can be none other than the traitor in question. HE made ASI suffer and, indeed, the argument can be made that the Falasan War is his fault as well.

So basically he (Aramil, King of Carelia) just wanted to use speed and overwhelming power to strangle off you recruitment so there is no resistence. Good stuff that man comes up with. But invading your terribly powerful region, tisk, tisk, that hardly constitutes the actions of a coward. What he did was explain his plan to me in bits and pieces while I formed mine. My plan actually started out with Carelian troops ariving at the Taran border and waiting a tick or two to see what counter move Lister would make to a couple thousand troops standing at his doorstep. After you reacted, we would utilize RS and Abby. We would probably be outnumbered in that first counterstrike, but I've stood up to worse and survived. I thought that it might be better if YOU attacked US so that CE would have to make up their own mind on what to do. Remeber, we are still at an Alliance stance with them. I thought that might look better. I then worried about what would happen if they did join, and if they didn't join the front of the battle, what if they attacked Nida. Well then, before I left I packed a defensive force and a bunch of milita orders into that city and that takes care of the Western front. You must of had some counter-attack plan. Indulge me, I am interested.

The Tara Times will seek to confirm this speculation and get back to you.
