How do we see region descriptions in the game? I haven't seen a link anywhere. --John 00:18, 8 August 2007 (CEST)

At the moment, you don't. Very soon, you will. --Tom 11:57, 8 August 2007 (CEST)
When all regions have descriptions? Van Peteghem 13:15, 8 August 2007 (CEST)

This is a very nice feature. It appears that the wiki style links do not work properly (not sure it is a bug). Aslo, I found a bit restrictive the impossibility to name things that are not on the map; I had written a small description of the region for the Wiki (here: East Continent/Perdan Mines), but the new, in game, description is much more limited. For example it is realistic to assume that a region of about 10.000 souls has villages, even if they are not on the map. Naming them would just make sense, but following the guidelines this is not possible.--Brainwave 19:48, 15 August 2007 (CEST)

The guidelines don't disallow that. Villages are never on the map. You couldn't invent a town or city if the region isn't townsland or city, but villages? No problem. --Tom 21:57, 15 August 2007 (CEST)
Thanks for the clarification, Tom!--Brainwave 15:53, 18 August 2007 (CEST)

Why disallow taverns but allow villages? Taverns are among (in my experience)the most often roleplayed location of conversations and other gatherings, if a region has a well roleplayed tavern why not be able to include it? It certainly adds flavor and it just seems silly to disallow such well known places while allowing places most people in your realm or elsewhere have never even heard of, why not both? ~Hyral

I don't disallow taverns, only the invention of them if they aren't actually available for entertainment. When you go to entertainment, the game shows you a list of available taverns. Now what would you think if the region description would elaborate on the harbor taverns - which are then nowhere to be found? --Tom 08:09, 21 August 2007 (CEST)
I would think the lord was describing the region as it is known to them and the rest of their realm. people know there is only entertainment in certain types of regions, I think we should give their intelligence some credit here. I mean, if we disallow all the stuff that isn't actually there then a lot of rolyplayed entertainment establishments (taverns, hotsprings, halls of music, etc) that have been around since the conception of the realm would be left out and that makes the region just so boring (and nothing like what the realm recognizes it as). If we only describe the buildings and places that are actually there every badlands will be basically the same with the words switched around, the same with woodlands, it would be so limited. I thought the point of these descriptions was to give a written character to each region, not state the obvious in saying "well, there's nothing here" in pretty words. I think lords should be able to put what they want as long as it's not physically impossible for such a trait to ever be there and it's within the character of the realm or lord (like multiple cities in a badlands, bustling ports in a mountains region nowhere near water) ~Hyral
