If Dekion won, then he remembered his shield. If he remembered his shield, then he has no food. If he has no food, then he did not cook that night. We are told that Dekion coocked that night, therefore, he had food, he remembered his shield, and he did not win.
We are told Dekion camped that night in the forest too. Therefore, Shadowwolf was not the only knight who camped out. So Shadowwolf is not the winner either.
